Charice opts to celebrate 18th birthday with 300 kids in Enchanted Kingdom instead of having formal debut


International singing sensation Charice wilh have a very hectic schedule this weekend. On Saturday, May 23, Charice will have her confirmation that will also coincide with her younger brother's baptism. In the afternoon, she will go to the Enchanted Kingdom to celebrate her 18th birthday with about 300 underprivileged kids. The following day, May 23, she will launch her album at the Glorietta 4 in Makati City. Then on Monday, May 24, Charice will fly to Japan to record Jap

Instead of having a formal debut, international singer Charice opts to celebrate her 18th birthday with 300 kids in Enchanted Kingdom. The kids who are under the care of Bantay Bata will be treated to an afternoon of fun and rides in the theme park tomorrow, May 22.

Charice's actual 18th birthday was last May 10. But she was in the United States that day for prior engagements.

Another major event in the life of Charice is her upcoming confirmation that will coincide with the baptism of her younger brother Carl tomorrow morning, May 22. They invited persons close to Charice to stand as her godparents. These include American TV host Oprah Winfrey, songwriter and producer David Foster, as well as U.S. entertainment lawyer Ed Shapiro.

Other persons invited to stand as her godparents during the confirmation ceremony are ABS-CBN executives Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III, Charo Santos-Concio, Malou Santos, Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino-Yap, Ricky Lo, Karen Davila, news anchor Julius Babao and wife Cristine Bersola, and Dra. Vicki Belo.


After the confirmation, Charice and her family will hold their reception at the Soup Kitchen where they will also take the time to feed underprivileged children.

This Sunday, May 23, Charice will hold her album launch at the Glorietta 4 Park in Makati City at around 6 p.m. She will perform cuts from her self-titled album, which was recently launched in The Oprah Winfrey Show. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)

The following day, May 24, the young Filipina singer will head to Japan to record Japanese songs under Warner Music Japan.
