Last week on Showbiz Central, host John "Sweet" Lapus interrogated Kris Bernal and squeezed out some juicy information from the actress concerning the rumored love triangle between her and co-stars Aljur Abrenica and Brazilian model Daniel Matsunaga. This week, it's Aljur turn to be strapped to the lie detector and answer some of Sweet's most hard-to-evade questions yet.
To add to the pressure, select fans of the young hunk were seen backstage cheering behind posts marked "Truth" and "Lie." In this game segment, fans lucky enough to end up behind the post matching Aljur's lie detector results will get the chance to meet and greet the star. Those who end up at the wrong post will get a healthy dose of water courtesy of a fireman and his hose.
Without further ado, Sweet got down to business.
"Last week, umupo dito sa lie detector test and inyong ka-love team na si Kris Bernal," started the comedian. "At ito ka na, sa tanong na kung mas type ba niya si Daniel Matsunaga kaysa sa iyo, e sumagot naman siya ng 'No.' Tuwang-tuwa naman iyong mga AlKris. Subalit 'Lie' and resulta. Kaya naman ngayon nali-link si Kris kay Daniel, e gusto namin malaman ang iyong reaction. Once and for all, Aljur, apektado ka ba na nali-link sa isa't isa si Kris at si Daniel?"
"No," answered Aljur after a brief pause.
Majority of Aljur's fans, however, immediately went behind the "Lie" post. The result:
LIE!
Those fans unlucky enough to go to the "Truth" post were immeidately drenched with water. A red-faced and embarassed Aljur profoundly expressed his apologies. "Sorry, sorry, hindi ko sinasadya," he said. When asked to explain, he admitted, "Alam ko naman na magla-lie iyon, e, at apektado talaga ako."
After a short laugh, he continued, "Oo naman, ito ang pinakamalungkot na balita para sa akin noong sinabi sa akin na maghihiwalay na kami dahil si Kris nasanay na akong kasama siya at laging kami magkasama sa hirap at ginhawa. Mami-miss ko talaga si Kris pero nangako kami sa isa't isa na walang magbabago sa akin at lagi ako nandiyan para sa kanya."
"Naging girlfriend mo ba si Rich Asuncion?"
After thinking for a while, he answered, "No."
This time, all the fans went for the "Lie" post. True enough, Aljur's answer ended up as a lie, and the fans, for now, avoided getting doused. After seeing the position of his fans, a more relieved Aljur explained, "Ah, siguro binibigyan nila ng kulay iyong magandang pagsasama namin ni Rich, kasi sa StarStruck pa lang, e magkasama na kami and sinabi ko na din, di ba, na noong nanalo si Kris at Mart [Escudero] as love team, medyo naging close kami ni Rich na din. Siya ang medyo ko naging ka-love team ko sa SOP pa noon, at lagi ko siyang nakakausap. Tapos ngayon walang nagbabago sa amin. Magkaibigan pa din kami."
Sweet, however, commented that he had news that people saw Rich attending Cosmopolitan magazine's Cosmo Hunk event and rooting for Aljur. "Um, hindi ko siya in-invite talaga. Noong nakita ko siya, e, sabi ko na buti dumating siya. Kasama daw niya si Maxene [Magalona]."
After that explanation, a satisfied Sweet proceeded with the third question. He asked, "Aljur, dati pa na si Kris ang ka-love team mo pero ang balita na ka-on mo noon ay si Rich Asuncion. Kaya naman nagkaroon daw ng alitan ang dalawa. Nagdededmahan ang dalawa daw ngayon. So ang tanong, sa palagay mo, nagdededmahan ba si Kris at and friend mong si Rich?"
"No," answered Aljur after briefly thinking about the question. Once again, the fans unified and went for "Truth."
LIE!
This time, all the fans were sprayed with water and they scattered all over the backstage. Aljur could only wince and say "sorry" for getting his fans wet again. When asked to explain, he expressed that he did not really know anything about Kris and Rich's supposed dedmahan issue. "Wala, e, at wala akong balita," he said. "Bulong-bulungan daw pero ayoko makialam kung ano mayroon."
Straying away from the topic of Kris, the last question for Aljur was on his co-star Bianca King. Rumor has it that he is courting her.
"Once and for all, totoo ba na nililigawan mo ngayon si Bianca King?" asked Sweet.
"Crush ko siya, pero, no," said Aljur.
This time, the fans separated. Some went to "Truth" and some to "Lie." True enough, the machine agreed and attested that Aljur's answer was the truth. After the "Lie" fans were bombarded with water, it was time for Aljur to explain the rumor. He said, "Siguro nag-start 'yan after kami nag-usap tungkol sa movie niya at matutuwa daw director niya kung pupunta ako. So pumunta ako. Maraming tao nakakita na dumating ako. Siguro inakala ng tao na ka-date ko siya sa premiere night."
