Carlene Aguilar has found a new sport; she's now trying to learn more tricks in wakeboarding.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) saw her having fun watching the participants of the 6th Annual Perpetual Cup at Lago de Oro in Calatagan, Batangas last June 26.
Although the former beauty queen did not sign up for the competition, she was there to give support to her husband Yo Ocampo and she even tried the sport in between breaks.
In an interview with the actress, she said it was only three months ago that the water sport was first introduced to her by fellow actress Sherilyn Reyes. Since then, she and her husband have been going out of town to play the sport. Among the places they've been to, aside from Lago de Oro, were Deca WakeBoard Park in Davao City and CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Camarines Sur.
Before wakeboarding, Carlene was already into sports like badminton, volleyball, and swimming. She immediately fell in love with wakeboarding because, "'Yong adrenalin, 'yong speed, 'yong pagiging active, 'yan, gusto ko yan." She mentioned that it's also a good form of exercise.
Carlene regretted not joining the competition since there were only a few contestants, especially in the beginners section. So, she promised herself to practice more so she could participate in the next competition.
"Ninerbiyos pa (ako)," she said. "Pero sayang. Sana sumali ako kasi konti lang yung sumali sa beginner's level ng women. Pero okey lang, siguro next year. Si Yo naman kasi, okey siya, kasi napapasukan niya ang iba. Siyempre, lalake siya. Ako naman, nag-iingat pa ako. Dapat 'yong sigurado ako."
