Rumors have been spreading about the breakup of actor Diether Ocampo and commercial model Rima Ostwani after going steady for two years. In a separate interview, Diether commented about the rumored breakup: "I have to sacrifice something... Gusto ko lang bigyan prayoridad ang mga bagay-bagay. It's a mutual decision..."
Rima tells her side of the story. She finally breaks the ice and opens her heart in an interview with The Buzz host Boy Abunda aired yesterday, August 8.
Boy asked her how she and Diether met. Rima narrated, "Initially, he saw me an event...he noticed my feet. He was texting me..." Rima then quipped, "It was love at feet sight!"
Rima said that she was quite hesitant to enter into a relationship with actors due to the "playboy" stigma. She further disclosed the "playboy" celebrity image vanished when Diet told her that he has a foundation for children and gave her his business card.
The Buzz host asked how Diether courted her. Rima replied, "We were seeing each other every day." Eventually, the friendship blossomed into romance.
On the breakup issue, Boy bluntly asked her, "Rima, naghiwalay na nga kayo ni Diether?"
Rima simply replied, "Tito Boy, yes."
She added, "Masakit para sa akin ito, Tito Boy... Nahirapan siyang [Diether] balansehin ang work and relationship... I tried to understand [the situation]. Is that enough reason to throw away what we had?"
Boy further inquired: "What was the straw that broke the camel's back?"
Rima emotionally stated: "There was a couple of incidents that he put me through that was unnecessary... I felt I was very much taken for granted."
Another direct question was asked: Was any third party involved?
Rima said, "No third party."
Boy then asked her if she still loved Diether. "Iniyakan mo ba to?"
"Sobra...sobra" was Rima's reply. She further disclosed, "I was praying for enlightenment. He gave me signs to move forward."
How is she coping?
"I am getting strength from the people who love me. I know I lost an important part of my life," said Rima.
Boy asked her what she wants to say to Diether.
"Thank you...for showing me love. Thank you for the wonderful experience. He will always have a mark in my life," were Rima's parting words.
