"Okay naman po, sobrang na-inspire po ako kay Direk Wenn at alam kong napakagaling na director ni Direk Wenn," Makisig confidently said about doing a gay role for the movie Petrang Kabayo.

Teen actor Makisig Morales showed versatility as he took on a different role in the remake of the 1988 Filipino classic comedy-fantasy Viva Films movie Petrang Kabayo. He plays the character Pedro, the young Peter (Vice Ganda)—a gay role, which is totally different from the roles he has played so far.

"Sa lahat ng ginawa kong project, yun lang yung kabaligtaran sa ginawa ko po," Makisig said.

The 14-year-old Makisig gained popularity for his character in ABS-CBN's defunct show Super Inggo. He also appeared on the big screen in Ang Cute ng Ina Mo (2007), Supahpapalicious (2008), and in Caregiver (2008).

In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the premiere screening of Petrang Kabayo last night, October 10, at SM Megamall Cinema 10, Makisig said that he watched movies picked by his father, Jong Makisig, as learning aides for the role.

"May mga movies pong pinanood sa akin si Daddy. Yun po yung nag-motivate sa akin."

Makisig singled out Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros (2005) as the movie that really helped him a lot.

The talented teen actor added that Vice Ganda's performance style in Showtime also helped Makisig in the build-up of his gay character, "Pinapanood ko din po si Vice Ganda sa Showtime. Kaya yun din po. Ginagaya ko din yung mga kilos niya."

Makisig is confident that this new role will not have any negative impact on his wholesome image. He trusts the capability of the movie's director, Director Wenn V. Deramas.

"Okay naman po, sobrang na-inspire po ako kay Direk Wenn at alam kong napakagaling na director ni Direk Wenn," Makisig said.
