People waited in the line as early as five o'clock in the afternoon to watch the evening show of the much-awaited Philippine performance of America's Best Dance Crew Season 3 champion, Quest Crew.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance to witness the explosive moves of the American hip-hop dance group when they performed at the Eastwood Mall Open Park last December 4.
The audience got pumped up as the upbeat music started filling the air. Event host Jada of Wave 89.1 introduced Quest Crew—composed of Andy Luo, Aris Paracuelles, Brian Hirano, Daniel Ryan "Ryanimay" Conferido, Dominic "D- Trix" Sandoval, Hokuto "Hok" Konishi, Lydia Paek, Ryan Feng, Steve Terada, and Victor Kim.
Prior to their winning stint on the talent search ABDC, the group already caught the attention of the public through their performances on American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance?
At the beginning of the show, Amber Davis serenaded the audience with her rendition of "Manila" and her latest single "Back Into You."
The dance floor heated up even more when Young JV performed his way into the hearts of viewers that night. The 18-year-old heartthrob sent hearts aflutter with his popular hit song "That Girl."
Then the 2008 World Hip Hop Dance Competition champions, the Philippine All Stars, heated up the stage with their amazing dance moves.
Finally, it was time for Quest Crew to show Filipinos what they got. As soon as they appeared on center stage, everyone stood up and started yelling how much they loved the group.
The group showed the crowd their popular dance performances that allowed them to win America's Best Dance Crew Season 3. The people just went loco and cheered in every stunt that each member offered.
JASMINE CURTIS PLAYS ALONG WITH QUEST CREW. Aside from showing their kick-ass moves on the dance floor, the members of Quest Crew also had the chance to interact with their fans. They called up three of their fans to play a game with them.
The participants were asked to give a Filipino word or phrase, and the Quest Crew members would each use it in a sentence while trying to figure out what it actually means.
The audience would then choose the member who came closest to the real meaning of the phrase or word.
During the December 5 performance of Quest Crew at The Venice Piazza at Mckinley Hill, Jasmine Curtis was one of the participants in this game. She mentioned the word hinlalaki and one Quest Crew member misused it in a sentence by saying, "I'm getting hinlalaki [dizzy]!" The crowd laughed.
After the games, the dance members were given their time to shine by showcasing their best moves on stage. As the show ended, the members gave away shirts, sending the people wild!
Right after the event, a meet-and-greet session was held. Aside from autograph-signing, fans had a photo op with their idols. The souvenir shots would be uploaded to the website of Eastwood Mall.
Quest Crew wowed audiences three times in Manila: last December 3 at Newport Plaza at Resorts World in Pasay City; December 4 at Eastwood Mall Open Park and December 5 at The Venice Piazza at Mckinley Hill.
After conquering the Philippines, Quest Crew is slated to perform in various countries in Europe, Asia, and Australia.
