Krista Kleiner talks about how she acted as spokesperson for herself and her fellow candidates who were being forced to endorse a product soon after the Miss International 2010 pageant.

Naging isa sa early favorites si Krista during the pageant.

"I'm very excited na yung title na nakuha ko is Miss Expressive and Miss Talent. This is something that we could be proud of.

"This means that we Filipinos can show what we've got. That we can communicate our ideas well and that our talent and skills can compete globally," sabi ni Krista tungkol sa kanyang special awards.

ALSO A WINNER. First runner-up ang Thailand at 2nd runner-up ang China.

Kuwento niya, "I was approached by other candidates and they said, "Miss Philippines is our favorite, our wonder woman, our hero!'

"It is very tiring. We had to wake up at 6 a.m. to do our hair and makeup. The only time they provide for it is for the parade, pero ang dami namin. So, the whole time I was there, I did my own hair and makeup, which was part naman of my training.

"It took a month na walang maayos na tulog, hindi nakakaintindi yung mga tao, nasa harap lagi ng media... But you still have to be beautiful, be nice and everything.

"Akala ko hindi ko talaga yun magagawa. But what really made the difference for me was that we had a really good group," kuwento ng 21-year-old Filipino-American beauty queen.

BAD EXPERIENCE.

Kuwento ng beauty queen, "I was invited to stay longer with the other candidates after the pageant night.

"At first, it was okay. 'Tapos all of a sudden, we are in an eight-hour bus ride, and all of a sudden, may inaabot sa amin, like they are asking us to promote something I didn't agree with!

It's not fair!' Hindi naman kami winner na binabayaran or anything, we were just asked to be nice and, you know, to stay with them," pag-alala ni Krista.

Sabi niya, "So, the other girls agreed and na-cheap-an sila sa product na pino-promote. And they said, 'Krista, you know the rules for this kind of thing.

"'We have our rights,' sabi ko. Tumawa yung PR ng company, sabi niya, 'Anong rights n'yo?' Sabi ko, 'A, talaga, may kuha ako sa video!'

"I told the Chinese translator na sabihin sa kanya, kung hindi kami irerespeto, gusto ko umalis na. Sabi niya, 'We'll talk about it tomorrow.'

"They don't have the right to treat us that way," aniya. "We represent our countries, and it's not proper for them to force us to endorse some product."

JAY-R.

"Jay-R and I have never been better," sambit ni Krista.

"We went through hard times. Every time we are afar, it made us stronger. It made us realize how much we need each other.

"We became better friends—and you may call lovers, I guess—na we understand each other. What we are planning to do right now is to do a lot of things together."

"Pero right now, I wanna take things slow kasi bata pa naman ako. And I promised my parents na I will try to wait muna.

If he's the one, what's the harm?

"Hindi naman kailangang i-rush. You have to get a life, ma-spread out yung kaligayahan mo.

"We don't need to rush pa. We are doing great, and we are really happy," sabi ni Krista.
