(UPDATED) Sharon Cuneta reacts to Hayden Kho Jr.'s alleged tweet; Hayden denies referring to Megastar's billboard

"Ang nakakatawa, parang I don't have to have to defend myself, pero what I'll do na lang is siguro, at this point, I'll remind na lang everybody na I've been endorsing products very credibly, very carefully, since I was 13. At hindi ko ipagpapalit sa isang endorserment yung reputation ko," says Sharon Cuneta about the controversy brought about by her billboard for a slimming program.


May isyu ngayon hinggil sa controversial billboard ng Marie France na si Sharon Cuneta ang bagong endorser.

Naunang naiulat sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang tungkol sa diumano'y pag-pull out ng nasabing billboard ni Sharon. May mga komento umano na hindi bago ang pictorial at hindi ayon sa slimming program ng Marie France, na akma sa pangangailang pisikal ng Megastar. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)

Agad itong binigyang-linaw ni Sharon kagabi, February 8, pagkababang-pagkababa ng kanyang sasakyan sa bukana ng Fanny Serrano salon na nakatakdang magkaroon ng pasinaya o inauguration sa Scout Madriñan sa Quezon City.

Si Sharon ang naimbitahan, along with her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan, na mag-cut ng ceremonial ribbon.

"It's true! Hindi daya 'yan! What came out in the billboards were from the same pictorial," sabi ni Sharon, obviously peeved by recent turnout of events hinggil sa kanyang pagiging endorser.

"Nasa taping ako, at nagulat ako. Somebody texted me, 'there's...' ganyan. 'What? Oh, my God!'

"Sabi raw, mas parang totoo yung isang billboard kesa dun sa naka-blue [where Sharon is in a slimmer figure]. E, isang pictorial lang 'yon. Lahat yun isang pictorial. Isang araw lang lahat ang costume na 'yon. Meron pa ngang lalabas. The thing is, Marie France disputed it."

"At hindi ko ipagpapalit sa isang endorserment yung reputation ko," diin ni Sharon. "Marie France has been around for 25 years. Itanong n'yo na lang kay Dawn [Zulueta]."

Si Dawn ay naging endorser din ng nasabing slimming program.

"Hindi naman ako minamadali," sabi pa ni Sharon. "Series 'yan, e. It's the first set of billboards. Kung hindi, di sana hinintay natin na super-tingting ako... It's really papayat nang papayat. Hindi naman puwedeng biglaan 'yon, e.

"So, sabi ko, bakit sila nagtataka, e, yung costumes ko, yung pini-pin sa likod! From the last fitting, mas liliit sa pictorial.

"All they have to do is watch Star Power every Sunday, I look the same. You know, to think TV puts on more than a picture, di ba? Parang... I don't know.

"Ni-launch ko 'yan, nakakatawa naman, lalabas ako, iba ang hitsura ko sa press than sa billboard. Ang tanga ko naman. Tanga ba ako?" natatawang sabi pa ni Sharon, bagamat naiirita sa naturang isyu sa kanya.

"Feeling ko lang, hindi pa ako nagkakaroon ng... Awa ng Panginoon, mula nung 13 [years old] ako, hindi pa ako nagkakaroon ng endorsement na nag-flop. Flop, meaning hindi kumita, hindi nadagdagan ang kita, o lalo pang humina.

"Hindi pa ako napu-pullout-an ng billboard, ng commercials. Never!" diin uli ng Megastar. "Sa awa ng Panginoong Diyos 'yan!

"So, parang why now? Maybe because some people, there's just some people who like to see you fail siguro.

"Or maybe it's hard for certain people to accept that after more than three decades, maski paano, naambunan pa ako ng Panginoon ng blessings na nakakagulat, so siguro, nagulat sila. Hindi nila akalain. When, in fact, hindi nila ako nakikita. At least kayo, nakikita n'yo ako."

MAD AT HAYDEN KHO JR. May nakakagulat ding kasunod na pahayag si Sharon matapos ang litanya niya ng mga paliwanag hinggil sa kanyang billboard.

Hindi pa man kumpirmado, may nakapag-ulat kay Sharon na ang isang negatibong reaksiyon sa kanyang Marie France billboard ay nanggaling diumano sa tweet ng kontrobersiyal ding si Hayden Kho Jr., boyfriend ni Dra. Vicki Belo at isa ring product endorser.

Agad itong sinagot ni Sharon sa interview niya sa PEP at iba pang press kagabi.

Sabi ni Sharon, "Kanina ko lang narinig. Tweet daw niya [Hayden], e. Sa Twitter daw. Kung tooo yun, ang kapal ng mukha niya!"

Ayon sa isang naunang nag-interview kay Sharon, mula sa isang TV news crew, may komento umano sa tweet si Hayden noong January 28, which said: "There's a billboard ad in Edsa developed by advertisers who think consumers are stupid. Guess."

Hindi tinukoy ni Hayden ang sinasabi niyang billboard, pero marami ang nag-conclude na ito ay sa Marie France, na maituturing na kakumpitensiya ng Belo Medical Group, na pag-aari ni Dra. Belo.

"Ako, it's my opinion," pasintabi ni Sharon, "mas stupid namang isipin mo na gagawin yung billboard na yun, starring yours truly, tapos makikita mo ako sa Star Power na 'ang laki pala!'

"Hindi naman gano'n, di ba? Sabi ko, ni-launch ko [ang endorsement], live in person, yun ang background ko—sa stage.

"Tapos, mambabastos siya [Hayden]? As far as I'm concerned, stupid people shouldn't comment on what is stupid or not!

"If I may add to that: Decent people are [the only] people I would like to listen to. Not those who do not know the meaning of decency. And who treat women like they're nothing! Excuse me!

"You know, you want to start a war with me? You? Fix all your problems first!" matapang na pahayag ni Sharon.


HAYDEN REACTS. Samantala, pinabulaanan naman ni Hayden na ang billboard ni Sharon ang tinutukoy niya sa kanyang tweet.

Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Twitter account, ipinost ni Hayden kaninang 2:47 p.m. ang kanyang reaksiyon sa mga pahayag ni Sharon:

"Wow! i wasn't referring to the MF billboard. I was referring to a "L**D" that's supposed to be a LOURDES. Dahan dahan naman po."

Kasunod nito ang isa pa niyang tweet:

"That was quite a wounding tirade from someone i respect. Ironic, really. Very ironic."

Sa panayam ng PEP kay Jojie Dingcong, consultant ng Belo Medical Group, pinabulaanan nitong si Sharon ang pinatatamaan ng tweet.

"It's not about Mega," ang mariin nitong sinabi. Ito raw ay reaction ni Hayden sa isang comment tungkol sa pag-launch nito ng fragrance line noong October 2010. Isang competitor daw ang nagsabing, "Bago siya magbenta ng pabango, pabanguhin niya muna ang kanyang imahe."
