Philippine Fashion Week ended with Penshoppe's rock-glam affair, featuring its celebrity endorsers Solenn Heussaff, Bea Soriano, Mikael Daez, and Victor Basa.
The show livened up its "Trailblazer" theme featuring models walking on a silver runway, which also marked the 25th anniversary of the brand's mother company, Golden ABC.
Bernie Liu, company president and CEO, opened the event with a toast thanking those "who have been instrumental" in the clothing brand's success and cheering for "the greatness of a local brand in the world."
He also announced the acquisition of Tyler, which he described as "one of the most premium fashion brands in the Philippines."
He mentioned in his speech, “Tyler is highly stylish and sophisticated, and its roots can be traced to a history steeped in tradition and prominence when it comes to its brand creators.”
But the spotlight, of course, was given to Penshoppe, the "brand that started it all."
The collection highlighted "basics" with embellishments.
Shirts were "sprinkled with glitter and sparkle," and jackets and pants were accented with grommets, studs, and rivets. Waxed jeans, funky dresses, and fancy blazers were also showcased.
The way to stand out is simple, according to designer-stylist Raoul Ramirez: "It's just a matter of how you dress up your basics."
