Back in the '90s, men fantasized about Cristina Gonzales.
She had flawless procelain skin, the face of an angel and the body of a vixen.
In her prime, she portrayed daring roles in the so-called ST (sex-trip) movies.
She gave up show business when she met Alfred Romualdez (now mayor of Tacloban, Leyte).
They got married in 1998 and she focused on starting a family, and later, a political career. She ran for first-district councilor in Tacloban, and is now on her second term.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with the former sexy star in Tacloban at the height of the Sangyaw Festival last June.
Cristina or Kring Kring still looks good after two kids (Sofia, 12, and Diana, 8).
She says she maintains her figure with exercise.
"Lately, I've been doing cardio, tae-bo. May trainer ako na pumupunta sa bahay tapos nagca-cardio kami. [Madalas] tae-bo, minsan belly dancing."
She also follows a strict diet.
For breakfast, Kring Kring eats a full meal. No restrictions. She eats anything including meat and carbohydrates. This keeps her energized throughout the day.
For lunch and dinner, Cristina only eats vegetables, usually fresh garden salads. She also drinks a can of Kirkland Weight Loss Shake.
The product has been featured on the website, LiveStrong.com, an online educational platform for healthy living. It is a trademark of the Lance Armstrong Foundation owned by the famous international cyclist.
Cristina shares the secret to her youthful glow:
"Stay happy. Always pray. Don't forget your spiritual relationship with God. Kasi ako, I'm a born again Christian so I try to maintain my [spirituality].
"And of course, I'm not gonna lie — I use beauty products like Celesty."
This is a Japanese brand of beauty products that Cristina is introducing in the Philippines with the help of showbiz columnist Aster Amoyo, who is also her good friend.
Celesty has a line of skin and hair care, food supplements and cosmetic products, some of which Cristina personally uses.
