"I'm hoping na I can learn a lot from this para next time it can be bigger. Then, maybe I can work with other charities and make something big out of it," says Xian Lim about sharing his blessings with the abandoned elderly at Anawim Lay Missions Foundation in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal, yesterday, July 19.

Xian Lim admits he's really not used to organizing grand celebrations for his birthday.

Instead of spending his money for a big party, the young actor, who turned 22 last July 12, shared his blessings with the elderly who are under the care of Anawim Lay Missions Foundation in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal.

"I didn't wanna use my money for big parties. Hindi ako gano'n, e. I don't really like 'yong sa akin ang attention. Sabi ko, I would rather just buy stuff so I can help out," he said.

Xian also told PEP. Ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other invited media that he was inspired by his mom who's very active in charity work, especially when they were still in the States.

"Naisip ko kasi, ang mommy ko, she always helps charities.

"I thought of doing it for the young kids. Pero I'm already helping them sa Larunungan, the toy drive campaign.

"Naisip ko naman, I wanna help the elderly naman for my first time."

Aside from donating food and other goods needed in the shelter, Xian and some of the Star Magic staff prepared a short program to give fun and entertainment to the elderly.

"I REALLY WANNA HELP OUT." Xian acknowledged his former Mamarazzi co-star Diether Ocampo for giving him advice about helping charities.

Diether is known for helping kids through his organization called K.I.D.S. Foundation

"Na-inspire ako kay Diether, 'yong K.I.D.S. Foundation niya," said Xian.

He recalled, "Sabi niya, when he started, he started small.

'Tapos, sabi ko, gusto ko rin maging gano'n, magkaroon ng ganyang experience.

"Sabi ko, I wanna be like that someday.

"Since medyo sinusuwerte, I'm gonna take this opportunity para maging gano'n din, to be big charity-wise."

With the activities that happened yesterday at Anawim, the former Katorse actor hoped that he was able to learn a lot of things about sharing his blessings.
