Billy Crawford gets back on track with his quest to lose weight

Kapamilya star Billy Crawford, has been the subject of criticism for quite some time now due to his obvious weight gain.

The "Bright Lights" singer acknowledged this and made a commitment to get back into shape.

He said he is not likely to undergo cosmetic surgery but has made some efforts to stop his pound-packing.

Billy hosts various ABS-CBN programs such as Pilipinas Got Talent, Showtime and ASAP Rocks.

Recently, many TV viewers have noticed the slight change in his appearance.

At the Star Magic Games held in Makati last July 31, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Billy, who played for the ASAP basketball team.

We couldn't help but praise him for his "achievement. "

His reaction: "Wow, ha! Sa tapat ni Derek Ramsay? Diyos ko 'day, parang hindi naman."

The key to his weight loss, he said, is his new active lifestyle.

"Ano lang, basketball. I play twice a week with Vhong [Navarro, his co-host in Showtime and fellow Kanto Boys member.]"

He doesn't follow a diet regimen although "I try not to eat so much pork.

"Iyon lang. Pero 'pag tumatakbo ka naman at sumasayaw pa medyo natatagtag ka," he added.

Billy, an international RnB sensation, became famous as a total performer. He sings and dances well.

He said spending more time at the dance studio — doing mostly hip-hop — also helped him shed pounds.

Dancing is a form of cardio workout which allows the body to sweat and induce a faster metabolism to burn more calories.

Billy admitted that he still has to reach his ideal weight, but the result of his recent efforts has made him confident that he will be able to achieve his goal.
