Josh was a sophomore at Ateneo de Manila University taking up Communication Technology Management when he auditioned for a part in the TV5 series, Bagets. He landed the role of Jules Soriano, a rich spoiled brat, who competes with AJ Muhlach for the attention of a girl in campus.

"As much as possible, I want to accompany my dad sa mga nagiging shows niya noon and I would take pictures. Okey lang naman kay dad kasi alam niya na it's my favorite thing to do.

"Kapag nandoon nga ako, people would come up to me and ask kung anak daw ba ako ni Gino Padilla? Kasi I sort of look like him. I would say 'yes' and they would ask kung mag-aartista ba ako. Lagi ko na lang sinasagot with a smile.

"It never entered my mind kasi nga I'm happy with my normal life as a teenager. Some people don't know my dad pala is Gino Padilla. Kapag nalaman nila, they would say na favorite si dad ng mga mommy at daddy nila. So it's kinda cool to know that my dad was one of the top singers during the '80s," ang sabi ni Josh.

Josh was a sophomore at Ateneo de Manila University taking up Communication Technology Management nang alukin siyang mag-audition para sa TV series na Bagets.

"I was apprehensive pa nga po because I had no prior acting experience. Parang nakakahiya. Sabi naman nila na they were looking for new talents and fresh faces. Yung first time lang na lalabas sa isang TV show. So I gathered enough courage for the audition sa Viva Entertainment office. It was scary but I was able to give them what I've got."

"The role they gave me is opposite sa totoo kong personality. I have to portray a mayabang and arrogante na spoiled brat. Yung tipong troublemaker kaya palipat-lipat ako ng school. And my dad dislikes me because of my attitude.

"It was hard at first to be a mean person kasi if you know me, malayo ito sa ginagawa ko sa show. But I like to thank Direk Mark [Reyes] for helping us out. Lalo na kaming mga baguhan. He was very patient with us and matiyaga niya kaming tinuturuan sa set."

Nakapag-acting workshop na siya under Laurice Guillen and Leo Martinez. Meron din silang workshop for singing and dancing.

"Viva and TV5 have provided us with the best people to teach us everything. The series Bagets kasi isn't just acting, it's an all-around thing for us.

"We all have to learn what's out there for us and I am willing to undergo any workshop basta ma-improve ang mga dapat na ma-improve sa akin," ang sabi niya.

Pati na ang mga songs na "I Believe in You" at "Let the Love Begin."

"It's funny nga po kasi when people know na anak ako ni Gino Padilla, they would ask if I sing like him. I mean, parating gano'n ang mga tanong nila. But I will always say naman that my dad is the original and he's always the best.

"I try my best to sing as well as he does. I can carry a tune but I feel na hindi ako magiging kasing-galing ng dad ko," ngiti pa ni Josh.

"My dad said that I should commit to what I've gotten myself into. Panindigan ko raw ang pinasok kong trabaho. Kailangan 100 percent ang dedication ko sa trabaho. Hindi puwede yung half-hearted ka.

"Ako naman, I'd like to do good para maging proud ang parents ko sa akin. I want to show them that I'm a grown man and I can commit to anything," pagtatapos pa ni Josh Padilla.
