Now, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) brings you the continuation of our exclusive interview with TF (or Tita Fanny) at the Novuhair launch last July 20 in Quezon City.

The beauty expert-slash-occasional actor, who starred in the indie film Tarima, talked about skin care, makeup, and styling. He also gave a list of the actresses that he thinks are most beautiful au naturelle.

First, Fanny talked about makeup and skin care, two of the things in this world he knows a lot about.

Generally, his beauty philosophy goes:

"As much as possible, ang gagamitin nila [ay] yung products na pag na-try nila may result na nangyari; hindi yung dahil ginagamit ni ganitong celebrity kahit walang nangyayari, e, gamit ka nang gamit. Hindi gano'n.

"At hangga't maaari, yung mga harmless [products]. Iwasan ang mababangong produkto, yun ang mas delikado, yung masyadong mabango. Hangga't maaari [unscented]."

It's never wrong to admire or idolize celebrities for their sense of style and beauty.

In fact, they could just be your best bets in finding the right solution for your own personal woes.

But Fanny says celebrity endorsement shouldn't be your basis when it comes to choosing the right products.

One important factor is to identify your type of skin. From there, you can start searching for products that will work best on your skin type.

MAKEUP AND SKIN CARE. When it comes to skin care and applying makeup, Fanny has five simple rules:

First, a clean face is always important. Never forget to perform the basics twice a day—cleanse, tone and moisturize—in the morning and especially at night before going to sleep.

As Fanny says, "Importante kasi even without makeup, kung glowing ka, that's already the makeup. Yun na yun."

Second, be aware of your facial features. Get to know your best and worst features, so you would know which parts to highlight and which parts to conceal.

Third, know your skin tone. This will help you know which makeup colors and shades would work best for you.

Fourth, get to know the personality of the subject.

"Go natural.

Fanny also suggests investing in the right beauty products.

He believes that every girl must own a good "concealer kasi ito yung proteksyon sa skin mo.

He adds: "Then after concealer, pressed powder lang, puwede na yan.

"Then, good color of lipstick, then good color of blush-on and eye shadow. Nasa earth tones ang pinaka-safe.

"And then, mascara."

MOST BEAUTIFUL CELEBS. Having done the hair and makeup of some of the biggest celebrities in the country, Fanny was also able to impart his knowledge in putting on their own makeup.

Among his best wards are Asia's songbird Regine Velasquez and actress Bing Loyzaga, who he says is really very good.

"Would you believe Jean Saburit [can do her own makeup]? And Vivian Velez.

"[Also] Kuh Ledesma, magaling siya mag-makeup."

Who among the Filipina celebrities does he find beautiful even without makeup?

"KC [Concepcion] maganda siya kahit walang makeup.

"Amy Austria.

"Even Lorna Tolentino.

"I love the face of Anne Curtis.

"And, of course, actually, nakita mo na si Sharon [Cuneta] pag walang makeup?

OVERALL STYLING TIPS. Just like anybody who once dreamed of becoming a beauty stylist, Fanny also had to learn the ropes.

He now shares his knowledge to aspiring stylists out there. His foolproof tips for the aspiring beauty stylist:

"Kailangan, study the personality muna of the star or client and, at the same time, study the character na ini-impose sa kanya in a certain pictorial—sosyal ba, fashionista ba or whatever.

"And then, of course, [piliin mo] yung mga bagay na damit, hairstyle, and makeup [para sa taong iyon].

"And then, kailangan meron kang power to mix the expensive and inexpensive na gamit.

Fanny gave this advice for the independent woman who wants to explore her own sense of style.

He says, "First you have to ask yourself, 'Can you carry it kung ano yung pinaplano mo sa sarili mo?

Off na yun.

"And then, pangalawa, kung ikaw mag-i-style at naka-focus ka lang sa kailangan mamahalin, medyo made-defocus ka niyan. Ang pinakamaganda diyan, yung inexpensive paano mo gagawing [mukhang] expensive that's according to your personality.

"And then, ang panghuli ay kailangan paninidigan mo yang [look mo]. Wala kang pahinga dyan. Pagpasok mo sa party, tuluy-tuloy ang role. Hanggang sa pag-[good]-bye, tuluy-tuloy ang role."
