Celebrity endorser and actor JC de Vera shared the runway with Ford Supermodel of the World winner Danica Magpantay for Freego's latest collections showcased on October 27 at the Main Atrium of the SM Mall of Asia.
The show opened with a solo male dancer grooving to Chris Brown's hit, "Tonight." After taking off his shirt, the evening instantly turned hotter!
Models, one by one, or in groups, came out sporting key pieces from the Midnight Hunter collection.
Others posed on a conveyor belt—a visual and technical first at Philippine Fashion Week—to give denim lovers a glimpse of what to expect this summer.
Spotlight was on rayon, powder stretch, and coated denim; plus, dusty grays, inky blues, and deep shades of black.
For the Conventional Spy segment, models were clad in coats and jackets; for the Russian Spy, models wore outfits with Fur as accent.
The male models, including JC, went shirtless for the Revolutionary Spy segment.
And for the Cool & Dry and Organic collections, light and airy pieces—like shorts and knitted tops—took center stage.
A subtle Asian feel was evident in separates with loose, flowing silhouettes in whites, bright colors, pastels and plaids.
Plus, there were references to the bohemian lifestyle of the '70s in the flared and high-waist pants for women.
Selections for summer also featured fabric innovations such as bamboo denim and organic cotton that absorb sweat, thus, giving the wearer comfort and ease of movement.
The Reversible Collection was also unveiled. Two groups of four male models appeared in various stages of undress, holding their pants or shorts.
Danica did the finale wearing a flowing charmeuse gown and an acid washed denim jacket. Yes, she pulled it off!
Also joining the fashion show was Samantha Gomez, the country's bet to this year's edition of the runway tilt, as well as select players from the NCAA Season 87 champions, San Beda Red Lions, and the UAAP team Adamson Falcons.
Spotted in the audience were Geoff Taylor, Philippine Azkals Anton del Rosario and Angel Guirado, Miss World-Philippines director Cory Quirino, and, of course, singer-actress Danita Paner—who cheered her boyfriend JC.
