Miss Universe 2011 third runner up Shamcey Supsup wore the hottest denim delights as she modeled for a famous jeans brand at the Philippine Fashion Week Summer 2012. Shamcey was just one of the many famous faces who headlined some of the biggest retail shows at the fashion showcase this season.

October has just ended and so has the country's second most stylish week of the year.

The Philippine Fashion Week Summer 2012 opened on October 23, Sunday, to a star-studded show at the SMX Convention Center. It featured the brands under the umbrella of Ben Chan's retail fashion empire.

Color-blocking, sheer, and wide leg pants for the ladies; and neutrals, bowties, and slim-fit trousers for men are the trends this summer as dictated by Bench, Human, and Kashieca and their celebrity models who graced the seamlessly-executed fashion show.

Artists from both ABS-CBN and GMA-7 camps headlined the show, including the Kapuso network's hot young talents Aljur Abrenica, Rocco Nacino, Sarah Lahbati, Steven Silva, Carlo Guevarra, Janine Gutierrez, and Isabelle Daza.

Star Magic also flaunted their homegrown aces like Piolo Pascual, Angelica Panganiban, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee, Ejay Falcon, Rayver Cruz, Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco, Jessy Mendiola, Joseph Marco, Franco Daza, Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo, Diego Loyzaga, and Regine Angeles.

Sexy pro models Borgy Manotoc, Georgina Wilson and Jon Avila were also present.

The second night, October 24, belonged to international retail brand Guess, which also showcased its collection at the SMX Convention Center.

Unlike typical fashion shows that employ reed-thin models, the Guess catalog featured female celebrity guests of all shapes and sizes.

Crowd favorites included the pixie-sized teen actress Tippy Dos Santos, buxom babe Jamilla Obispo, bombshell Bubbles Paraiso, tall and statuesque beauty queen Krista Kleiner, curvy Zia Quizon, and the fully-bloomed Maxene Magalona.

Male stars such as Jay-R, Jon Hall, Brent Javier, and Ram Sagad also represented the league of hot men.

Not to be outdone, local jeans brand Freego took its turn to showcase two new jeans collections at the SM Mall Of Asia Atrium on Thursday, October 27.

Caucasian models channeled Russian spy-inspired fashion as they wore pieces from the new Midnight Hunter collection.

TV5's budding action star JC De Vera led the pack of models wearing dark-hued denims in black, midnight blue and ash gray.

Meanwhile, Ford Supermodel winner Danica Magpantay headlined the second part of the show that featured the Cool & Dry collection, comprised of an assortment of fresh and airy pieces perfect for warm weather.

College cagers from the San Beda Red Lions and Adamson University Falcons also modeled the brand's genius product line of reversible apparel and jeans.

Later that same Thursday evening, Miss Universe 2011 third runner up Shamcey Supsup delivered her famous "tsunami walk" at the runway of another jeans brand: Lee.

Along with Philippine Azkals member Anton del Rosario, the charming beauty queen and other models took the versatile denim jeans into uncharted fashion vistas.

By matching them with plain, bright-colored tops, printed accents, and statement shoes, the rather ordinary pairs of pants, cut-offs and shorts turned into instant fashion blockbusters of the coming season.

Finally, on October 28, Fashion Week's retail row came to a stellar finale with Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer gracing the Penshoppe show.

The Crazy Little Thing Called Love star set the ladies' hearts on fire not just with his winning looks and charisma, but also with the way he modeled the jet set-worthy pieces from the brand.

Of course, since summer connotes vacations, getaways, and outdoor sorties of all kinds, it always pays to beat the heat in the most stylish yet comfortable clothes.

Now, just as we're all looking forward to the summer and Mario's pairing with Erich Gonzales in an upcoming Star Cinema movie, so are we anticipating the charge of more trendy pieces that will definitely heat up the coming season.
