"Okay na. Peace, peace na lahat."
Juicy Express host IC Mendoza told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that all is well between his mother, Dolly Anne Carvajal and Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, cousin and manager of Candy Pangilinan.
Candy had apologized to IC and IC accepted her apology, almost two weeks after the cussing incident that erupted on August 1. (CLICK HERE to read related story).
PEP spoke to IC last night during the taping of TV5's Utol Kong Hoodlum, set to air in September. The remake will star IC as Jasmine Curtis's best friend, Bruce Gardoce.
IC said his mother Dolly Anne and Angeli settled things on Friday, August 12, at Aga Muhlach's birthday party.
"... Sa party ni Tito Aga Muhlach nagkita si Tita Angeli saka si Mommy. Nakapag-usap sila and tumawag ako. Naka-usap ko rin si Tita Angeli. Okay na rin ako with Tita Angeli.
"Si Tito Gary [Valenciano] naka-usap ko rin," IC told PEP during a break in shooting.
In her August 7 Dollywood column titled, "Candy's Apology to IC Accepted," Dolly Anne wrote: "Prior to Candy's apology, Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano sent me this text message: 'I want to extend an olive branch from Candy and apologize on her behalf. She is remorseful and sorry. Of course, one cannot erase the pain right away but I told Candy you're like family to me already...'"
Dolly Anne accepted the apology and wrote: "Apology accepted, Angeli and Candy. Forgiving comes easy because I remember the time Gary V and Angeli were there during my mom's [the late Inday Badiday] critical hours in the ICU. Mommy and Gary share the same birthday, which just happens to be the day I am writing this column (Aug. 6). It's probably more than a coincidence."
Meanwhile, IC said he has already spoken to Angeli.
"Hindi na namin in-elaborate pa [na] 'O okay na' ganyan ganyan," recalled IC.
"Ang sabi niya lang 'Hello, IC! Kamusta? O, where are you? Punta ka naman dito.' Ang sabi ko, 'Okay na po, Tita, kasi I have a volleyball game.'
"Sobrang short lang ng pag-uusap namin pero intindi na namin na okay na kami."
IC was not able to drop by Aga Muhlach's birthday celebration due to a prior engagement.
IC STANDS BY JUICY EXPRESS. Known for its showbiz blind item segments and indiscreet treatment of controversial issues, Juicy Express will not change its format despite negative remarks it received from Candy Pangilinan.
Defending the show he hosts with Cristy Fermin, Alex Gonzaga, Mo Twister, and Shalala, IC said, "Magti-three years na ang Juicy.
"Marami na rin kaming naka-engkuwentrong artista and mga nag-react negatively about the show pero... three years na naming ginagawa.
"I don't think naman na may ginawa kaming mali kay Candy kasi ako naman, personally, hindi naman namin tinira si Candy, ever, sa Juicy," IC said.
He added that in handling stories, their team uses "the patanong."
"Sa mga writers nga [ginagamit ang] 'diumano,' [and] 'allegedly' kung hindi tayo ganun ka-sure sa istoriya."
Management will stick to the show's formula, according to IC.
"I think wala naman kailangan gawin... We're not adjusting anything dahil may nasaktan. Kasi with Candy naman, wala naman kasing ginawa sa kanya ang TV5 o ang Juicy...
"Pag artista ka, it comes with the territory na pag-uusapan ka. She [Candy] should know that kasi ang tagal na niya sa showbiz."
