It's way past the "100 Days,"yet Xyriel Manabat still feels like heaven.
With barely enough time to rest, the precocious child star plunged right into another series of back-breaking taping schedules for her next project, Ikaw Ay Pag-ibig.
Touted as ABS-CBN's latest pre-Christmas drama series, the show, which premiered last November 21, finds Xyriel sharing stellar billing with other child wonders Zaijian Jaranilla, Mutya Orquia, and Louise Abuel.
In an adult tone, she said, "Sana po ay abangan niyo na rin po. Suportahan niyo po katulad ng pagsuporta niyo dat sa 100 Days to Heaven."
As many of its fans know, 100 Days to Heaven had its offshoot charity activity recently— a gift-giving project dubbed 100 Toys to Heaven.
During the November 16, 2011 turnover ceremony, Xyriel told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) why she's a "mabait na bata."
She said, "Siguro po kasi ginawa ako ni God. Kasi po, mabait rin po si God. At saka yung mga magulang ko."
In this sometimes too controversial business, it is refreshing to hear such innocence.
At seven, she has achieved heights of success that many older actors can only wish for.
Yet she remains kind, makulit, and more than anything— genuine.
Asked which specific role she enjoyed most during her 100 Days To Heaven stint, she answered: "Lahat po ng scenes. Kasi lahat po may matututo ka po dito na aral."
A lover of crafts, Xyriel made her own parting gift for Coney Reyes, her older version in the soap: A card.
"Para po sa last day namin, hindi niya po ako makakalimutan. Para lagi niya po ako maaalala," she explained.
Amazingly, this sweet yet busy child wonder is still in school. "Nag-aaral naman po ako!" she exclaimed proudly.
How does she do it?
"Sa schedule po," she replied, looking at her mom.
What's her favorite subject?
"Math. Kasi po challenging po siya. Marami ka pong matutunan. Mag pla-plus, mag-a-addition, mag-di-divide..."
