Imee Marco swears she doesn't have any beauty regimen.
At 56, her morena skin looks flawless with very few signs of aging.
"Wala," she says during the press conference of Pintakasi, a film she produced.
"Abuso sa katawan. Grabe, walang tulog. Pulitika, pareho rin ng film, e, wala sa oras matulog."
The genes and the habit, she tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), are courtesy of her mom Imelda Marcos, whose skin still looks supple even if she's already 82 years old and also "abuso sa kutis."
"No. I'm like my mom," she reveals. "She doesn't do anything, and I'm just like her. Like, we do all the bad things."
And if it's a must for most stars to remove their make-up before going to sleep, the governor of Ilocos Norte says, "Make-up off and do all the cream, we don't do all of that. We're really lazy, and we're always nagmamadali."
So how does she take good care of her skin?
"Ewan ko, what's my beauty secret? Eating too much dessert? It's all wrong!
"And I eat all the Bagnet in Ilocos Norte, including the crispy dinuguan. I'm really bad. I don't exercise din."
But one thing, she never fails to do, "I drink a lot of water."
The producer-politician grins, "Siguro that's the only good thing I do."
The topic shifted to her camera days.
As a kid, she became part of Kulit Bulilit and Kaluskos Musmos, which were both released before Batibot.
She also attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Acting and Playwriting, and took up acting at the Royal Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in London.
But to be in front of the camera is the farthest thing from her mind"
"I dunno. It's not something I think about. Those days are over,"she muses. "But yeah, yeah, I think, for fun and if I have time."
Is she going to have a cameo role in Pintakasi?
She replied with a smile, "I was looking earlier that I'd accept a cameo role, if it's okay, and people will still vote for me afterwards."
But in the end, she decided to focus on her job as the film's producer. "I was just really trying to do the balancing acts between the animators and the actors."
