What is the best way to mend a broken heart?
Checking out the tips of "love experts" might help, but for KC Concepcion, getting a haircut is a must-do.
On December 14, the former The Buzz host tweeted a quote from French fashion icon Coco Chanel:
"A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life."
And this new look, which debuted at the ABS-CBN Christmas Special taping last December 13, says a lot about her state: she's ready to move forward from her split with Piolo Pascual.
KC, who used to have long hair down her back, now dons a shorter 'do—a long A-line bob—which gives her a more carefree look.
In bobhairstyles.biz, it describes the versatile hairstyle as "a short haircut in which the hair is usually cut straight around the head to about the jaw."
It was made popular in the 1920s by Hollywood actress Louise Brooke and has since evolved into many variations to suit the times.
THE PERFECT BOB. If you liked KC's new hairstyle, don't go out just yet to get your hair done the same way.
First, you must know that there are different types of bob cuts depending on your face frame.
Beauty resource website hairfinder.com tells us which style is perfect for you.
Round and oval-faced girls are considered lucky because almost every bob style suits them.
Be it the classic A-line, smooth angled, or razor cut, the trick is to always keep it longer than usual. Allowing the hair to fall naturally down the sides of the cheeks can lessen the width of the face and make it appear slimmer.
Those with long faces, on the other hand, must do the opposite and keep theirs shorter.
Trim it from the jaw area (or even higher) to the tip of the ears.
The roundness at the bottom created by the subtle layers will give an illusion of volume on the cheeks, therefore distracting attention from the chin and making the face seem wider.
And finally for women with angular faces—be it an inverted triangle, diamond, or square—a smooth A-line will work best, just like KC who has a round-to-square face shape.
The focus, as mentioned on the website, is "to create smooth curving lines," which can either hide your jaws or cheeks...and even your heartbreak.
