Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne is going back to Manila on February 16.
She will perform in a one-night-only show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for the Philippine leg of The Black Star world tour.
The eight-time Grammy nominee will showcase new songs from her latest work, Goodbye Lullaby, as well as favorite hits from her past three albums.
For this brief visit, the 27-year-old "pop-rock princess" remarked, "My fans are hardcore. They are very dedicated and really supportive—the kind of fans who stick around.
"It's been an amazing experience meeting them after shows and reading their letters, because the things they'll say to me are very special.
"People have come up and started crying, saying, 'You have no idea what your music has done for me.' That's all I need to hear."
This will be the third time for the "Complicated" singer to perform in the country.
Her first Manila show was in 2005 for the Bonez tour with Simple Plan.
It was followed three years later in 2008 when she did a world tour to promote her third album The Best Damn Thing.
