Young actress Erich Gonzales usually spends her birthday at an orphanage.
This year, she decided to visit a home for the aged to share her blessings.
With the help of her talent management, Star Magic, she prepared food and treats for the residents of Kanlungan ni Maria in Nayong Silangan, Antipolo City.
"Pasasalamat lang din sa mga blessings na dumating na gusto ko lang i-share.
"Kumbaga, I'm paying it forward po para sa lahat ng mga magagandang bagay," said Erich in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) just before she left the shelter last Tuesday night, February 21.
The 21-year-old actress said she was happy to share her blessings and bring joy to the elderly residents of Kanlungan ni Maria.
"Sobrang masaya ho dahil nakikita mo silang tumatawa at ngumingiti.
"Kahit sa konting oras na nagkasama kami, masasabi ko na isa ito sa mga pangyayari na hinding-hindi ko talaga makakalimutan.
"You know, kahit matatanda na sila, gusto ko lang mabigyan sila ng halaga, ng appreciation, at ma-feel nila na they're special."
Erich had a small "salu-salo" with the seniors and was treated to a short entertainment number presented by the residents.
Nanay Pina sang a medley of classic Pinoy songs, which according to the young actress was quite enjoyable.
Erich would have stayed longer but she had another engagement.
The Maria la del Barrio star assured the elderly residents that this would not be her last visit to Kanlungan ni Maria.
"Kapag may oras po ulit, dadalaw ako sa kanila," Erich promised before she left the shelter.
