Shalani Soledad-Romulo was a picture of contentment.
At the event of TV5 in the NBC Tent on February 15—where she was introduced as one of the co-hosts in the station's upcoming noontime show Game 'n Go—Shalani related her first trip with husband Pasig Representative Roman Romulo.
On the heels of their wedding on January 22 (CLICK HERE to view pictures), they flew to Europe.
The Valenzuela city councilor told PEP, "Ang saya! Although this time of the year, winter sa Europe, so ang pinuntahan namin is Paris and Rome. So sobrang lamig..."
She went on relating her week-long travel:
"Of course, it's my first time to go to Rome and Paris so tinitingnan ko 'yong mga sites na maganda, 'yong mga historical sites nila, 'yong mga tourist spots nila.
"Of course, Eiffel Tower and then 'yong [museums] sa Paris and then 'yong mga cafes nila, just walking around Champs de Elysses.
"Sa Rome, we were able to have Papal audience so nakita din namin si Pope [Benedict XVI] and nakapagdasal kami.
"And siyempre sa Rome puro cultural and historical places ang aming napuntahan."
MARRIED LIFE. Now that they're back in town, Shalani is faced with the adjustments of her new role as a wife.
How are things so far?
"Biggest adjustments would be...'cause we are staying now at Pasig, although we are planning to build a house in Valenzuela...
"But as of the meantime, because I'm staying in Pasig 'yong travel time ko going to work [nadagdagan], that's one.
"And also si Roman, kasi he sleeps early, he wakes up early. Ako, I sleep late and I wake up late.
"So pag gising na ko, paalis na siya or tulog na siya [pero] gising na gising pa ko, so 'yon 'yong mga adjustments namin."
Shalani is excited about doing her chores as a homemaker.
"Ako, I love staying at home because that's a rarity nowadays. Pero I love cooking, I love cleaning the house. It relaxes me, actually.
Has she already cooked for Roman?
"Hindi pa [pero] si Roman, hindi naman siya mapili. Pero favorite niya, steak. Favorite niya din 'yong mga hipon."
Her next goal: prepare a nice home-cooked meal for her husband.
