Cristine Reyes and her Crucifix tattoos

Why get the image of a crucifix tattooed? Cristine Reyes asks: Would you regret getting that image tattooed on your skin?

Behind Cristine Reyes's fragile demeanor is a feisty lass.

In showbizlandia where judgments and snide criticisms are swallowed as facts, the actress is not the type to take things sitting down. The Kapamilya actress is always one to wear her heart on her sleeve.

And she also bears two tattoos, each located in her left and right wrist, that further reinforces her being a tough...cookie.

On her right is the image of a crucifix attached to a rosary. It is her more recent skin ink, "Nakuha ko siya nung 2010."

The actress sheds light on why she picked a rosary: "Kasi siyempre kung magpapa-tattoo ka, yun yung something na hindi mo kailangan i-regret.

Her fixation with the crucifix also has a lot to do with such indelible marks. "Marami akong necklaces na mga cross. So ayun, fascinated ako sa mga cross."

Cristine admits to not being so religious. If anything, the tattoos perhaps signify her humanity and belief in God.

"I'm not the type of person na nagpe-pray every hour pero mine-make sure ko na at the end of the day, nagpe-pray ako. Or kahit anong merong something, every morning din nagpe-pray ako."

What does a Cristine Reyes pray for?

"Yun yung kailangan, e. Magpasalamat, magpatawad.

There is a need to pray for forgiveness, Cristine says.

Her left tattoo bears another crucifix with hearts. This she got back in 2009.

While others would prefer their tattoos in portions of their bodies that could simply be concealed by clothing, Cristine meant for hers to be exposed.

"Gusto ko somewhere na makikita ko palagi. Ayoko magpa-tattoo na itatago ko naman. Anong sense nun, 'di ba? So ... ngayon, nakikita ko siya palagi."

Will real-life boyfriend Rayver Cruz's name soon appear somewhere on her arm maybe?

Cristine is quick to answer, "No way! Parang curse yun, 'di ba? 'Pag pinapa-tattoo mo yung pangalan ng someone, maghihiwalay."

"Saka ayoko. Kasi... bakit?

Ayoko."

We know how she loves him dearly, but sadly Cristine is not one of the impulsive, rash ones. She thinks and speaks her mind, unapologetic each time, like an obstinate, permanent tattoo.
