Bianca King on skin cleansing and freckles

Bianca King is not shy about having freckles. For her, it is an advantage because it’s both “nakaka-tisay” and “nakaka-international.”

Her best advice to other girls with freckles is: “Own it!” What’s more important is to keep the skin clear and clean all the time, she adds.

Bianca King began her career as a model, banking on her fair, mestiza features and petite figure.

Now one of GMA-7’s lead actresses, she remains as pretty as in her teenage years, thanks to her religious skin care regimen, which she gladly shared with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview on March 23.

The Broken Vow star, who turned 26 on March 18, says she keeps her skin looking young and healthy by staying away from makeup.

“Well, less makeup.

Right after taping, Bianca would use an oil-based makeup remover, “Para tanggal talaga lahat ng makeup, pati mascara natutunaw.”

Then she does the standard ritual of cleansing with a facial wash, toning, and moisturizing.

“Gano’n talaga ako ka-religious. Three times a day halos.

Most especially on regular days, Bianca prefers to go makeup-free.

“No, no talaga.

LOVING HER FRECKLES. Among Bianca’s facial trademarks are her abundant freckles, particularly on her nose and cheeks.

Unlike girls who see freckles as a skin problem, Bianca has learned to embrace what's natural.

Her advice to those who feel awkward about their skin’s condition: “Own it! Be confident that you have freckles.

“Ako, if you watch my shows, even on Party [Pilipinas] na kahit medyo smoky iyong eyes ko [with makeup], kita iyong freckles ko.

“Kasi if you look at mga international fashion beauty spreads, the foundation is very, very light so you can really see all the freckles.

“It’s really just about how to use color [makeup], iyong mga gano’n. So for me, just be proud that you have freckles kasi cute siya, e.”

Freckles are usually a permanent skin condition that's hereditary or developed after repeated sun exposure.

Bianca’s advice to avoid the multiplication of dark spots on your skin: “Kasi pag lumalabas ka sa araw parang nagda-darken siya at saka nagmu-multiply siya. so para maiwasan na lang siguro iyong pagdagdag, always wear sunblock.

“Ako, everyday nagsa-sunblock ako. Iyong moisturizer that I use, organic moisturizer siya na may SPF 15. Kapag nasa beach, SPF 50.”
