More than being conservative, Karylle did not have enough courage to wear sexy outfits when she was younger because, “I was fat in my head.”

Karylle was still having a hangover from her recent trip to Boracay so she was a little playful when she met the press at the launch of her latest music video last Monday, 23 at Center Stage on Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

While the music video of her third single from her Roadtrip album, “I’ve Found My Smile Again,” was being played, we noticed Karylle wearing a pink bikini top under an ultra-sheer cover, matched with mini skirt in a lighter shade of pink.

When this was pointed out to Karylle, the singer-actress said she was comfortable wearing it for the music video.

She even jested, “Naka-bikini nga ako ngayon, e. Gusto mong makita?”

It seems like the daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla is not hesitant anymore to wear revealing outfits in public.

“I guess it comes to a point when you become comfortable with your body,” she explained.

“I WAS FAT IN MY HEAD.” Karylle told the press that when she was younger, she never wore clothes that would reveal too much skin.

Then, she recalled the day when she first tried to show more skin at school.

“Noong college kasi ako, nag-sleeveless ako for the first time. Ito ‘yong cutoffs pa.

“‘Tapos it was such a big deal sa buong block.

“ [Sabi nila], ‘Hey, K, naka-sleeveless ka. Ano’ng nangyari?’

“Talagang for the whole day, ‘yon ang discussion.”

The It’s Showtime host said that she was shy about wearing such clothes because, “Before, I really thought I was fat.”

She continued, “It didn’t come to a point naman na naging anorexic ako.

“But when you start out a body image, parang you think you’re fat but you’re not.

“So more than being conservative, I was fat in my head.”

Now, that fat person in her mind is gone. Karylle has become more confident with her body and she can wear anything she wants, sexy or not.
