Maldita now has a salon!
After 12 years of contemplating whether it will be a lucrative venture or not, Mr. Eric Teng— the man behind one of the country’s most successful clothing brands— finally decided to turn the former Mojo Gym into “an exclusive L’Oreal salon.”
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the first branch’s opening on #75 Panay Avenue, Quezon City, Eric said, “I think the economy natin and the population, the demographics, not just women but men, we’re more into higher level of service for salon, not just the usual salon before.
“So, I’m hoping that I can offer something different.”
His next step is to open more salon studios across the country.
Eric added, “But not necessarily the usual places— there might be hotels, commercial buildings, offices, or near tourist areas.
“And we just want to offer people an alternative to what they’re normally used to.”
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO:
1) Learning from his experience in the restaurant business, he said one thing he can guarantee: “Customer service!”
2) The predominantly white interior of the salon is spotless.
3) And in Eric’s own words, expect “quality of workmanship ng technicians namin, the stylists, and the assistants.”
4) They have private rooms— free of charge!
5) Most importantly, “We’re not expensive. I’ve heard so many customers say they were surprised that the price was that low. But we’re not really trying to be low-priced. We are not trying to be high-priced either.”
With much enthusiasm, the owner stated, “Hopefully, we have achieved something different.
“But we’re also trying to keep learning because it’s not easy looking for that level na hinahanap namin even in other countries.
“So, I want to set that as a standard for myself na maiba kami just by the décor, the ambience, and also the customer service.”
Lastly, we asked how Maldita got its name.
Chuckling, the businessman answered, “The women I love tend to be malditas— my mother, my wife, my daughter— yung parang kinatatakutan ko.
“Takot ako sa anak ko. Pag masungit, mahirap na…”
