Last night, September 1, at the Makati Coliseum, Gerald Anderson organized a celebrity basketball match for the benefit of HERO Foundation.
The sporting event, titled HERO Ball, saw several stars from different TV networks.
TV5’s Derek Ramsay headed Team Army, which is composed of JC De Vera, Marco Alcaraz, Luis Alandy, Arron Villaflor, Joross Gamboa, John Hall, Jhong Hilario, and pro-baller James Martinez, who was drafted in the PBA team Ginebra Kings in 2011.
Gerald led Team Marines, which included Enrique Gil, Rayver Cruz, Joseph Marco, John Prats, Matt Evans, Jose Sarasola, Young JV, Joe Black, Gerard Acao, and Lance Christopher.
Team Marines eventually won the game.
Perhaps this victory had something to do with what Gerald did—or got—during halftime?
After giving a short speech and awarding three beneficiaries with college scholarships, Gerald approached the audience bleachers to greet some friends and, of course, his current flame Maja Salvador seated on the front row.
It was a pretty quick encounter. Gerald approached Maja, leaned forward and got a peck on the cheek, which reporters thought to be the “good luck kiss” that gave him an extra boost of confidence on the court.
At a press conference held after the game, the On The Job star was asked: “Malaking tulong ba iyong good luck kiss kanina ni Maja sa ’yo?”
Following a hearty laugh, he answered: “Hindi naman good luck kiss iyon!
“Nag-hi lang ako, nag-hi lang ako… Iyon.”
