Runners these days are often plugged into their MP3 players to keep them motivated while doing their regular running routines.
So, to make its annual run more fun and exciting this year, Rexona is jazzing up its fourth Rexona Run to inspire participants to do more.
Dubbed as “Run to Your Beat,” Rexona Run 2013 will be the first multi-sensorial night run in the country, where live music is expected to push people to run further and celebrate via a fun party at the finish line.
“It’s been proven that listening to music unleashes your energy, allowing you to run further,” said running expert Coach Rio dela Cruz, who shared three of the songs in his running playlist during the event launch held recently.
Meanwhile, brand manager Mar Corazo briefly described what runners have to expect on October 20 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds, “You don’t have to wear your MP3 players anymore.
“We have live music scattered all over the place.”
From the first gun start at 3AM, live performances will be scattered around the race track, adding a very different take on running.
The 5k race will have performances by Delta Street, Sandwich, The Diegos, DJ Mia Ayesa, Deuce Manila and DJ Nina.
Participants in the 10k race will get the chance to run to the music of Funk Avy and DJ Khai.
For their part, contestants in the 21k race will see all performances as well as the finale concert of Rico Blanco, Elmo Magalona and DJ Mars Miranda.
For Coach Rio, having live music during the race will help runners in keeping their energy up to the finish line.
“This is also to motivate some runners.
“As we all know, running for individual runners is actually boring,” he said.
To add more inspirations to participants, the deo brand will also give exciting prizes to the top three finishers of the respective categories.
Top three finishers in the 21k will receive P7,000, P5,000 and P3,000 for first, second and third placers.
In the10k category, first, second, and third placers will win P5,000, P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.
While 5k top three placers will go home with P4,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.
“Run to Your Beat” is organized by Runrio. Registration fee is P600 for 5k, P700 for 10k and P900 for 21k, at Riovana Stores in Bonifacio Global City and Katipunan; and Toby’s outlets in SM Mall of Asia and SM North Edsa The Block until October 16.
