Ruffa Gutierrez’s nine-year-old daughter Venice answered smartly like a beauty queen when asked about her birthday wish.
Venice did not ask for a new toy. Instead, she related to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other media, “[I wish for] world peace because there’s war and I want it be done with and I want the world to have a rainbow on top.”
Venice seemed to be very well informed about what is happening in the country, thanks to her mom who exposes her two daughters to current events by regularly watching the news.
“Tina-try ko na sila manood ng news.
“Every 6:30 p.m. we always watch the news para aware sila sa mga nangyayari sa bansa natin, sa mga crimes na nangyayari.
“Mas mabuti na ‘yong alam nila, aware sila so that, you know, makaiwas sila sa ganung sitwasyon,” Ruffa said in an interview during the ice cream party prepared for Venice at the Cold Stone Creamery in Serendra, The Fort, Taguig last Saturday, September 14.
FUTURE VET? Aside from world peace, the young lady also wished for a new puppy for her birthday.
But Mommy Ruffa was still having second thoughts about granting her daughter’s wish.
“Naku, ang dami niyang aso sa bahay. Siguro stuffed toy na lang na pet, hindi na totoong pet,” she kidded her daughter, who was standing beside her during the interview.
Ruffa explained why her daughter Venice likes animal pets. “She wants to be a veterinarian kaya minamahal niya talaga lahat ng mga hayop at gusto niyang alagaan.”
However, the actress told Venice, “Hindi naman puwedeng maging zoo ang bahay namin. I’ll bring you na lang to the zoo.”
Venice must have liked the idea so she gave her mom a smile.
COMMUNICATION WITH YILMAZ. Meanwhile, Ruffa revealed to the media that her daughters’ father, Yilmaz Bektas, sent their youngest child a birthday message.
Although they’re already separated, Ruffa said she still communicates with her former husband for the sake of her daughter.
In fact, she said that Venice’s dream if to see her dad someday.
When asked what the setup would be if that happens, Ruffa replied, “Hindi pa namin napag-uusapan ang setup basta ang gusto ko naman ay siya ang bumisita dito.
“Pero baka depende naman sa pag-uusap namin.
“Baka we can meet somewhere kung saan kami pareho kumportable, like sa States or in Europe.”
Since Ruffa has been single since the separation, both Venice and Lorin wished that their mom find the man in her life.
Eleven-year-old Lorin, who later joined the interview, said, “She has to get somebody, though…when she gets old.”
When asked what kind of person they want for mommy, Lorin answered, “I don’t care as long as the new person in mommy’s heart is not a murderer.”
Venice quickly added, “And someone who’s fit.”
Ruffa just looked at her daughters with amazement as they answered the media’s questions.
“Ang mga bata ngayon, very matatalino na sila ngayon.
“Nakita niyo naman ang mga kaklase nila… Hindi lang naman kami ang may ganitong sitwasyon.
“I’m very happy that they’re smart and ang importante is we’re one cute, happy family,” she said as the interview ended.
