Yasmien Kurdi has been “chubby” all her life.

Even when she joined StarStruck in 2003, “Hindi ako payat. Sa batch namin, ako ang healthy,” she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview.

The Anna Karenina star underlined: “Fear ko ang maging dabiana.”

So when she gave birth in January of this year, “Ayan na, mukhang mangyayari na yung sabi ng Nanay ko na tataba talaga ako.

That triggered her postpartum depression, which was defined by babycenter.com as “having recurrent feelings of intense worry or panic…any time during the first two months” after giving birth.

That became her motivation to lose weight.

WHAT SHE DID. She’s sporting a much slimmer figure now… thanks to juicing!

Why is it the healthier way of shedding off the extra pounds?

According to mayoclinic.com, it makes the “body absorb the nutrients from fruits and vegetables better” and “gives the digestive system a rest from working on fiber.”

Thanks to her husband, too!

The 24-year-old star said that the dad of her baby, Rey Soldevilla Jr., has been very supportive.

“We’re trying to be healthy.

Her diet is strictly “no-carbs.”

And for her fitness routine, she does brisk walking “every other day lalo na kung walang taping.”

Yasmien added, “I do Zumba sometimes pero fun lang, alam mo yung gano’n?

“Parang masaya ka, inaalagaan mo yung baby mo, and then yun, pumapayat ka.”

Lastly, she has the bashers to thank as well.

Now that she has achieved her desired weight, she wants to inspire other moms.

So hindi puwedeng ganun…”
