72 DAYS TO GO. After giving birth to her son Toby, Kyla says she and Rich Alvarez have given their full attention to their first-born child.
This was one of the reasons the couple never got to travel this year, which they usually did when they didn’t have a child yet.
So, this Christmas, Kyla’s ultimate wish is “a ticket to somewhere.”
“Nakaka-miss mag-travel,” the RnB singer told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview after the press conference of her new TV project, Villa Quintana, on October 26.
She continued, “This year, parang di kami makakapag-travel dahil kasi sa baby. Pero next year, siguro ‘yon ang gift na gusto ko.
“Gusto kong mag-travel ulit habang maliit siya.”
If she could choose a destination, Kyla would definitely want to return to Europe with her husband, of course.
Last year, she and Rich spent three weeks wandering in Europe, which remains as one of her most unforgettable trips abroad.
The Sunday All Stars mainstay happily recalled, “Nang nag-Europe Trip kami, hindi siya ‘yong naka-plan.
“It’s very spontaneous, hindi namin alam kung saan kami pupunta the next day.
“Ang first naming pinuntahan was Greece, pumunta kami sa Athens and Santorini.
"‘Tapos, nagpunta kami ng Rome sa Italy.
“Nag-drive kami sa Tuscany, so napuntahan namin ang Siena, Santi, San Gimignano.
“Nag-drive lang kami and nag-wine tasting lang kami.
“‘Tapos pumunta kami ng Switzerland. ‘Tapos Vatican City. Then, we went to France, Versailles, and Paris.”
When asked why she liked Europe more than other famous destination, she instantly replied, “Ang romantic, e!
“Sobrang romantic, ang sarap lang maglakad. It’s very peaceful.
“Medyo na-culture shock lang ako noong una, lalo na noong nagpunta kami sa Rome, kasi hindi ko alam na ganun karami ang tao, kasi tourist area siya.”
If her dream of doing a second European trip comes true, Kyla wants to explore the "not-so-touristy" parts of the continent.
Also, since Toby is still a baby, she and Rich might go without him.
She reasoned, “Hindi muna namin isasama si baby kasi medyo magulo.
“Sabi namin, siguro kapag medyo naa-appreciate na niya, kapag 14 years old na siya siguro.”
And most importantly, Kyla added, “Kapag mag-Europe kami, kaming dalawa lang, para may time pa rin kami na kaming dalawa.”
MANILA TO EUROPE AIRFARE. We consulted with travel website www.farecompare.com to see how much a couple, like Kyla and Rich, could be spending on airfare alone.
