You may remember Abby Asistio as "the bald girl" from The Voice of the Philippines, but soon, you may not be able to recognize her that way anymore, as she has finally found a solution to her hair condition.

Abby's new beauty secret is something you can also give to your friends who have hair problems like hair fall and hair thinning.

51 DAYS TO GO. On November 20, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got to meet Abby Asistio, a singer and host, who recently appeared on TV as an auditionee for ABS-CBN's The Voice of the Philippines.

Fans of the show may remember Abby as the girl who lived most of her life without hair.

"I had Alopecia Areata since four years old ako, and dahil po doon nalalagas iyong buhok ko.

"Medyo ikinahiya ko po iyong kakulangan na iyon, na hindi ko pinapakita, kaya ako nagsusumbrero saka nagwi-wig while growing up.

"Pero last year po, napag-desisyunan ko na hindi iyon hadlang sa kung anong gusto kong gawin sa buhay, and hindi ibig sabihin I’m less than everyone else because I don’t have hair."

Abby has indeed learned how to flaunt her bald head without feeling aloof or ashamed of her condition.

But just recently, she came across a product that she says has altered her life.

In December last year, people behind the all-natural hair product, called Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion, approached the 29-year-old cousin of Andi Eigenmann and half-sister of Ynna Asistio.

"Sa totoo lang po, I really had no expectations. Napakabait lang po talaga nila na they showed me, 'You know, we have this product, nakakatubo po siya ng buhok, gamitin niyo.'

"Wala ring ano, wala rin silang hiningi na kapalit. Gusto lang nila, if ever, tumulong; so ginamit ko po siya simula March this year.

"March ko po talagang sinimulan, kasi kahit noong lumapit na sila, siyempre meron po akong, 'A, talaga? Natural product?'

"Pero iyong sa loob ko, nandoon na ako sa, 'E, okay naman na ako, e. Bakit pa?' Merong ganoon pong pakiramdam.

"So, noong nagdesisyon ako, siguro ito na rin po iyong opportunity ni God na, 'Just give it a shot. You’ll never know what will happen.'"

After four to five months, Abby began to notice an improvement on her scalp.

"Dati kasi, I have only patches of hair dito sa harap, sa left; 'tapos dito sa right side; and then dito [top of her head] completely kalbo iyan.

"At doon iyon sa parte na wala namang buhok before, so nakita ko talaga na may improvement.

"So dahil doon, mas na-encourage pa ako na karirin iyong paggamit ng produkto, kasi tulad noong in-explain nila sa akin, parang pataba iyan, e.

"Kumbaga, iyong buhok mo o iyong scalp mo is iyan iyong plant na kailangan mong alagaan."

A GIFT FOR PEOPLE WITH HAIR PROBLEMS. Abby is a walking testament to the product's effectiveness.

Besides hair loss, it also addresses problems like falling hair, hair thinning, and permanent baldness, which a lot of people experience.

Aside from the topical lotion, the product line also includes a shampoo and a conditioner, which help address more common hair problems like limpness and dryness.

For the product to really take effect, Abby suggests following the instructions on the product literature religiously.

Use the shampoo and conditioner everyday. Apply the hair lotion twice a day, morning and night, massaging for at least 10 minutes before leaving it on to absorb.

Novuhair is available at all Mercury Drug branches nationwide. You may also visit www.novuhair.com for more information.
