Andrea Torres is having “konting space” in her career right now.
It’s been more than two months since her last project With A Smile, which ended on September 20, 2013.
But she’s enjoying the break, and is happy with her regular stints in Bubble Gang and Sunday All Stars.
At the thanksgiving party of Skechers in its newly opened store in Glorietta 2 yesterday, November 26, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Medyo pahinga muna sa soap.
“After Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga, after two months, pumasok yung With A Smile.”
Is she okay with the way her career is going right now?
13 YEARS OF WAITING. Animatedly, Andrea recounted her journey to stardom.
That was when she became a co-host in Ka-blog, an informative teen-oriented show.
The 23-year-old star nodded when we said, “ang bagal at ang tagal."
But she was resolute.
“Sabi ko, hindi! Napi-feel ko talaga may mangyayari.”
True enough, in 2012, she bagged the lead role in the remake of Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga, which was originally offered to Tanya Garcia.
Andrea said it was a good decision not to give up.
How does she handle the issues and intrigues?
Her reply: “Hahanapin mo lang lagi yung positive side. Feeling ko pag pinapakita mo yung stress, mas dumarami yung reason."
GOALS. YES! magazine’s staffwriter Bam Abellon mentioned that her last project was romantic comedy, is that the genre she wants to excel at?
Thus, “Lagi akong nagwo-workshop pag walang ginagawa.”
She’s been using her free time to do acting exercises, and learning more about her craft.
Her resolve to improve her acting is not just for career advancement, she’s also looking at longevity in show business.
LOVETEAM. The topic shifted to her screen partner Mikael Daez, who is currently playing Falco, one of Kylie Padilla’s leading man in Adarna.
Given the chance, who among the Kapuso actors would she like to be paired with?
A pause before she replied, “Maraming puwede.
She also mentioned Alden Richards, noting his performance in GMA News TV’s Wagas.
"Sobrang galing niya!” Andrea exclaimed.
How about in real life, doesn’t she have a partner or crush?
“Hollywood, e,” she initially anwered.
Then she anwered, “Ryan Gosling.”
The Kapuso talent added, “Heartbroken ako kasi nag-break sila, wala na akong pag-asa.”
She was referring to the breakup of Ryan and Eva Mendez, whom she happens to resemble.
“Lagi kong sinasabi, 'Ay pag pumunta ako ng Hollywood, may pag-asa.' Nung nag-break, 'Ay, wala na.'”
But what’s her relationship status?
So there’s a man in her life?
Her response: “Andiyan lang yun. Yung timing lang.”
But would she prefer dating a fellow actor or a non-showbiz guy?
Having thought of the “pros and cons,” she said, “Yung showbiz, mas maiintindihan ka niya, mas may time kayo together.
