A teary-eyed Mitoy Yonting was seen in the premises of Ford Makati showroom on December 4.
The first grand winner of ABS-CBN’s The Voice of the Philippines finally brought home one of his prizes from the contest—a brand new Ford Focus 2.0 Sport.
"Ito pala yung feeling ng makakuha ng kotse...nakakaiyak," Mitoy was quoted as saying in an article published on the website topgear.com.ph.
The 43-year-old singer—who, coincidentally, is the frontman of a band called The Draybers—proudly drove with his wife to the ABS-CBN Studios in Quezon City, to rehearse for the network’s annual Christmas Special after picking up the car.
The Ford Focus 2.0 Sport has a lot of cool high-tech features, which surprised Mitoy.
First off, the vehicle has no actual key, only a remote key fob, to open doors and start up the engine.
Mitoy was also impressed by the vehicle’s high-tech features, particularly the SYNC® communications and entertainment system installed in the car.
According to the Ford website, the SYNC® technology basically "connects you to your vehicle’s multimedia entertainment and information systems."
It allows users to voice-activate certain commands—such as make phone calls, play music, and adjust vehicle settings—using a mobile phone.
The car also has state-of-the-art engine technology, power shift, and power steering systems that give drivers an easy and comfortable experience.
Mitoy plans to have the car blessed at the Antipolo Cathedral in Rizal province soon.
The diocese holds regular car blessing ceremonies for people who believe in the good fortune that the Marian shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage brings to travelers.
