TV5 soap For Love or Money boasts three FHM cover girls—Alice Dixson, whose age-defying beauty graces this month’s issue; Ritz Azul, whose career made a bold turn via the magazine’s November 2012 cover, and Carlene Aguilar, whose steamy, post-pregnancy body in a 2009 cover stunned the men.
Carlene, who plays the devious best friend of Alice Dixson’s character in the drama series, revealed that she and the seasoned actress spend their free time on the set exchanging ideas about their favorite foods more than sharing diet tips.
Carlene relayed in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and members of the press on Wednesday, December 11, that she and Alice chit-chat about chocolates.
“Mga tsokolate, gano’n, kasi mahilig din siya. Basta marami kaming pinag-uusapan kasi kami yung magkasama sa room.”
Apart from being bombshells, Alice and Carlene are both pageant titlists. Alice was the 1986 Binibining Pilipinas-International winner while Carlene was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-World in 2005.
Asked to comment about Alice posing almost nude at the age of 44 for FHM, Carlene pointed out that the pictorial was done in good taste and the concept suited her friend and co-star.
“Parang tama lang sa age niya, sa kung ano yung status niya ngayon…
“Alam mo yung parang hindi mo kailangang naka-two piece para maging sexy ka?
"Her age, yun yung nagpa-sexy sa kanya, e."
Carlene recalled watching Alice play Dysebel in the ‘90s, and remarked that in their serye For Love or Money the veteran actress is still the dish she once was.
“Saka hello, sa Dyesebel, sexy na siya do’n, e. Wala na siyang dapat patunayan!,” she said, proud of Alice.
ON GOOD TERMS WITH EX-BEAU. As Christmas is just around the corner, Carlene and her ex-boyfriend, actor Dennis Trillo, have to decide fast who between the two of them will share the celebration with their six-year-old love child, Calix.
Not that it will be a problem, according to Carlene. She and the My Husband’s Lover star have maintained an amicable relationship since their controversial breakup in 2007.
Recall that Carlene was in the United States to give birth to Calix when Dennis was linked to sexy actress Cristine Reyes.
But after six years, all that was water under the bridge. Carlene married her non-showbiz husband, Yo Ocampo, in 2009, and Dennis had been in and out of relationships with actresses Cristine Reyes, Jennylyn Mercado, and Bianca King.
Dennis is currently single, and still basking in the phenomenal success of his onscreen loveteam with actor Tom Rodriguez in My Husband’s Lover.
Carlene let on that she and Dennis take turns in spending time with Calix every week.
Calix lives with Carlene and her husband on weekdays and Dennis comes to collect Calix for the weekend, an arrangement that happened naturally without need of a formal agreement.
Carlene said, “Okay kami ni Dennis. Saka sobrang okay yung relationship namin ngayon as friends, as parents ni Calyx.
"Wala kaming problema.
“So, sana nga ganun dati, yung alam mo yun? Smooth-sailing lahat.
“Kaso, naisip ko rin, kung ganun na dati, hindi mangyayari na maging smooth-sailing ngayon kung hindi nagkagulo dati.”
Does she think that she and Dennis would still be together today had they tried to save their relationship early on?
She described the father and son relationship of Dennis and Calix as “strong.”
“Talagang may bonding sila. Mga laro-larong PSP (Playstation), mga games, mahilig sila.
“Medyo naii-spoil lang niya pero I understand kasi konti lang ang time nila together.
“Tapos, ako yung taga-disiplina kasi everyday [kami magkasama] ni Calix.”
DENNIS IS A GOOD FATHER. Among Dennis’s former girlfriends, only Carlene has stuck around. She said having a son is a huge factor.
Moreover, the five years they spent as a couple, way before Dennis became a popular actor, helped cement their comfortable association as parents of Calix.
“Ewan ko din ba! Baka ako talaga true love no’n!,” Carlene joked, laughing.
Asked why she thinks Dennis’s romantic relationships do not work out, she said, “Feeling ko lang ha, kasi showbiz din.
“Maghanap siya siguro ng non-showbiz, mas okay.
“Kasi kami, nag-start sa gano’n. Hindi naman ako nag-a-artista dati …”
The right kind of woman for Dennis, Carlene volunteered, is someone who will understand his job as an actor.
Does she think Dennis is the marrying type?
“Hindi ko alam. Parang wag mo akong tanungin nung gano’n,” Carlene demurred.
“Pero okay siya as a father,” she concluded.
