Devon Seron on what keeps her grounded: “Lagi ko kasing kasama iyong family ko.

Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010 fourth big placer Devon Seron is anything but.

The girl is not your cookie-cutter celebrity, and she breaks the mold of the fame-seeking teen star in a very candid and endearing manner.

Last year, she joined the cast of ABS-CBN's Maria Mercedes—which is about to end this weekas Rosario, the younger sister of Maria Mercedes, played by Jessy Mendiola.

The project, Devon says, was a true blessing for her and her family.

"Thankfully, ano po... Super blessed ako na natutulungan ko na sila," she tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a recent interview.

"Kasi before, as in iyong pakiramdam na gusto mong magtrabaho, [kaya lang] masyado pa kong underaged noon, so hindi pa puwede.

"Ngayon, as in super thankful ako, super pray ako na ibinigay sa akin ulit 'to para makatulong ako sa family ko."

FAMILY FIRST. Picking her brain, it seems that Devon only has two things on her mind at this point: her family and her budding career as an actress.

When asked about what she’s been up to lately, she just babbled away about her work.

Masarap sa pakiramdam iyong na-a-achieve mo iyong isang scene,” she said with eagerness.

As for dating or hanging out with boys, she looked at us a bit baffled, then laughed, “Wala pa naman akong lovelife ngayon!”

Even with the limelight shining down on her, Devon remains grounded. She credits that to her family’s strong hold on values.

NOT A MATERIAL GIRL. Devon is also not the materialistic type. Unlike other girls her age, she doesn’t get caught up with the perks and luxuries of celebrity life.

At the same time, she also doesn’t flaunt her possessions on social networking sites.

“I think I’m too focused sa goal ko sa buhay, iyong mag-ipon para sa family ko,” she says about her commendable self-control.

But if there is one thing that Devon is sure to spend lots of money on, it would be her college education, which she is currently saving up for.

“Gusto ko talaga gumawa ng bahay or anything na for my family.

However, she is putting her college plans on hold because of work opportunities that are coming her way.

“Kasi sobrang hirap mag-college!

The sense of responsibility and maturity that Devon has is truly an impressive quality that makes her more “real” to her fans and viewers alike.

She redefines the meaning of “young celebrity” in ways that only she could.
