Hollywood actor Benicio del Torro plays a tough action anti-hero in the "exclusive trailer" directed by Bryan Singer, famous for his work in the X-Men movie franchise.
Though the trailer looks like it was made for a big-budget action flick, it's actually for the global campaign of international ice cream brand Magnum.
In this mini-movie, Benicio plays a man convinced by his wife (played by model Caroline Correa) to rob a bank vault that contained "75 million pieces of gold."
He goes through some spy-action stuff, like putting on a disguise, blacking out an entire city block, and evading the police in a car chase just to get the prize.
Later, he finds out that the loot is not exactly what he expected.
The "gold" is actually piles and piles of Magnum Gold—creamy vanilla ice cream laced with sea salt caramel syrup, and covered in two layers of thick cracking Belgian chocolate: one standard brown, and one gold.
This newest ice cream flavor to hit the Philippine market will be officially launched on Sunday, February 9, in various secret locations across Metro Manila.
THE GOLDEN HUNT. Pinoy fans of the ice cream brand can get the same high-octane experience as Benicio did in the trailer.
From now until February 9, folks can register their mobile numbers to www.magnum.com.ph to get clues that would lead to the secret locations of the vaults.
On Saturday, February 8, mini gold vaults will be popping up at SM Megamall, SM Mall Of Asia, SM North Edsa, SM Southmall, SM Aura Premier, Glorietta 4, Trinoma, Alabang Town Center, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Magnolia, and Robinsons Ermita.
On Sunday, February 9 at exactly 3:00 P.M, the first 100 consumers to line up in front of the vault will get the chance to experience the Magnum Gold standard.
