Close Up Forever Summer is back and this time it’s gonna be bigger!
At a kick-off party, held February 26, at the Republiq Super Club in Resorts World Manila, the popular oral care brand announced that the music festival, which they first launched in 2013, is officially back.
Berlin-based music producer DJ Thomas Gold gave a preview of what partygoers can expect from the concert.
The music festival, which was intended to take place late last year, was postponed because of super typhoon Yolanda.
International DJs Foxes and Rebecca & Fiona were supposed to headline the concert last November 9 at Bonifacio Global City.
Now, the highly anticipated event is back on track and it's giving the people the power to decide who they want to see at the music festival this summer.
Neil Trinidad, Unilever Philippines’ marketing manager for oral care, told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal): “It’s the first party of it’s kind where we co-created a concert with everyone.
“So, people got to vote on the type of concert that they wanted, the theme, the type of music, and even the place they wanted it to be held.”
Over 500,000 people helped with the planning of the concert through social media.
“The first that people chose was music, so it’s about EDM [electronic dance music]... people voted for EDM,” Neil said.
“The second, it’s gonna be an outdoor party held in Circuit Makati.
“And the last is sort of the theme: it’s gonna be a beach party theme.”
The marketing manager also said that it’s going to be the music festival/party to look forward to this summer.
“It’s gonna be a great concert filled with several international DJs and the best of our local DJs.”
THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. Brand ambassadors Coleen Garcia and Enrique Gil were glad to announce that Swedish music producer DJ Alesso will be taking the lead in the up coming music festival.
The 22-year-old DJ achieved worldwide attention from his massive hits including “Years,” “City of Dreams,” and “Under Control,” among others.
Joining Alesso in this music festival are other international acts and EDM’s rising stars, such as DJs Helena and Deiz Koyu.
Four favorite local DJs—Martin Pulgar, Mars Miranda, Ace Ramos, and Marc Raval—will complete the seven-DJ line-up.
Coleen told PEP: “I’m very very excited. I’m really looking forward to it.
“Ibang klase talaga noong naririnig ko pa lang iyong mga tao na sumisigaw just by seeing Alesso’s name [on the promo video], it’s very exciting.
“What more pa kung the day itself?
Meanwhile, Enrique expects everyone to have a really good time amidst the heat of the sun in the music fest.
The Kapamilya actor said, “We’re expecting everyone to have fun in the sun, that’s it. Di ba?
“Kasi pag summer diba, ‘Oh my gosh it’s so hot, it’s summer!’
“But we want to change it. We want to make it, ‘Oh summer, this is hot!’”
