The worst part about traveling is remembering that you forget to bring something important to your trip.
It certainly takes the fun out of a well-deserved vacation.
So, as a reminder, we have compiled a list of things to bring when you travel—to the beach, with the chikitings, alone, or abroad.
This list is also recommended by some celebrities.
ON THE BEACH. Swim, surf, or just enjoy the view. For whatever reason, going to the beach has its downside.
You can't stay too long under the sun as the UV rays can damage your skin.
Be prepared to block those! Remember, you’re aiming for sun-kissed skin, not burns and rashes.
Sunblock, scarfs, and other light clothing would help give you the “just right” tan, while shades would protect your vision.
Also, pack some lip balm, moisturizing lotion, Ziploc bags for food, and a water jug!
(Check out celebrities who love to wear shades on the beach here!)
ABROAD. Read up about the culture of the country that you're going to for the first time.
Check the currency exchange rates and bring sufficient money.
Dominic Roco recommends a dictionary when traveling in a non-English speaking country.
Don’t forget your road map if you’re planning to go around a strange city. Or search the Google map with your roaming mobile phone.
If the country has changing seasons, check with your travel agent about the appropriate clothes for the weather or browse the Internet.
Remember, in cold places, a simple jacket won’t do.
WITH KIDS. Experienced mother Carmina Villarroel-Legaspi has offered advice, “Ask them where they want to go.”
The mother of twins also recommends bringing a non-leather body bag when sightseeing with the kids, “Para free yung both hands.”
The body bag must be able to contain all the basic essentials—water, small towels, and cellphone.
MUST NOT FORGET MUST-HAVES. Don't forget toiletries because not every hotel has a complete set.
There is always a convenience store nearby anywhere, but it’s better not to have that problem at all, right?
First-aid kits, of course! It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Gadgets are also on the top of our list!
Ramon Bautista shares he can’t be without a fast and convenient mobile Internet access, “Malungkot e pag nag-selfie ka, 'di mo ma-upload.”
Billy Crawford, on the other hand, needs music on the road. He says it sets the mood, and it keeps him awake and perky.
Lastly, you can’t forget your camera.
How else can you record your experience and unforgettable moments?
It will be an adventure years from now to look into the pictures and relive those beautiful memories.
