In its June 2014 issue, Town and Country magazine presents a list of the country’s most eligible bachelors among the young scions, celebrities, and business personalities who pull influence in their chosen field of endeavors.
BORGY MANOTOC. Topping the list is certified A-lister Borgy Manotoc.
Apart from his undeniable good looks and six-pack abs, Town and Country says Borgy’s candidness and unassuming personality makes him the “perfect choice” for the top slot.
The 31-year-old model is the eldest son of Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and sportsman Tommy Manotoc.
Having spent most of his childhood at a farm house in Portugal, Borgy recalled that he actually got culture-shocked when he moved to Manila during his high school years.
“Manila life is surreal. I mean the security detail, even having a driver has always been the weirdest thing for me.
“I would wonder why all these people, who have real military and police skills, were wasting their time waiting around for me.
“In the past I really did it to appease my mother and I am very grateful for having someone to take care of me during my youth.
“But when I came back [after I finished college in U.S.] I said, ‘no more.’”
These days, Borgy keeps busy with his retail business, one of which is the local distributorship of the British footwear Dr. Martens.
He and model Georgina Wilson have been going steady for the past four years.
JOHN LLOYD CRUZ. Four-time Box Office King John Lloyd Cruz remains to be one of the most admired actors in the country.
His flair for drama and soulful eyes never fail to amaze his leading ladies on cam.
Some of his ongoing projects include ABS-CBN’s weekly sitcom Home Sweetie Home opposite Toni Gonzaga as well as an upcoming movie with Jessy Mendiola under Star Cinema.
What most people don’t know about John Lloyd though is that he happens to be an art collector with a growing stash of works by notable painters.
So far, the 30-year-old actor owns artworks by Filipino artists Elmer Borlongan, Pow Martinez and Onib Olmedo, among others.
He is in a relationship with fellow Kapamilya star Angelica Panganiban.
MATTEO GUIDICELLI. Born in Cebu to entrepreneurs Gianluca Guidicelli and Glenna Fernan, Matteo Guidicelli showed his passion for sports at an early age.
A multi-awarded karting champion before he entered showbiz, Matteo developed an interest in acting after his workshops at the New York Film Academy.
He also pursued a two-year Musical Theater course at the Columbia College in Chicago.
Matteo’s most recent television projects included a lead role in ABS-CBN’s primetime soap Galema and a hosting stint in The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition: Doubles.
The 25-year-old is busy training for triathlon and joining competitions around the country.
As for his relationship status, Matteo is rumored to be dating Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo.
DANIEL MATSUNAGA. The 25-year-old Brazilian-Japanese hunk Daniel Matsunaga has been doing professional modeling since he was 16.
He has been to 25 countries but opted to stay in the Philippines where product endorsements and TV offers constantly beckon.
Last March, Daniel often appeared as one of the guest co-hosts in Kris Aquino’s daily morning show Kris TV.
At present, Daniel is one of the surprise celebrity housemates in Pinoy Big Brother All In.
ATOM ARAULLO. Television personality Atom Araullo is said to be one of the most fawned-over broadcast journalists today.
A field reporter of ABS-CBN News, Atom made waves in social media late last year with his risky coverage of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban.
The 32-year-old finished his elementary and secondary education at the Ateneo de Manila and Philippine Science High School, respectively.
In 2005, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from the University of The Philippines.
In addition to his impressive educational background and boy-next-door appeal, Atom used to be a champion triathlete and has trained in other sports like soccer and tennis.
