Donnalyn Bartolome is the voice behind "Kakaibabe," first heard in the movie adaptation of Diary ng Panget, which starred James Reid and Nadine Lustre.

Meet Donnalyn Bartolome. She's the VIVA talent behind “Kakaibabe,” first heard in the movie adaptation of the Wattpad bestseller, Diary ng Panget.

In an interview with (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on June 4 at the Amerasian Studio, the bubbly rapper/singer related what it was like recording her first song.

Pero they used that as a creative thing.

"It’s my first time recording a Tagalog song na single, so parang nakakatuwa saka bago po siya talaga.

"So, just excited!"

Donnalyn’s genre seems to be a mixture of RnB, pop, and rap.

Why did she choose to focus on writing fast songs?

“When I tried doing it, people loved it. Siguro yun yung peg ko, people look [for their niche] and I think I found mine,” she said.

NOT YOUR TYPICAL RAPPER. Wearing a feminine floral dress, she didn't look like the rapper type.

“It’s unusual and usually, guys po gumagawa noon [rap]. So why isn't it acceptable for a girl to do it? Maybe I should try, so ito.”

What was the feedback for "Kakaibabe"?

SEARCHING BUT NOT LOST. Referring to her music video, how much of it reflects the real Donnalyn?

"Pinakita rin po sa music video na I was wearing this white shirt and skirt. I just wanted to be simple. Definitely, that’s me."

While she's happy doing what she's doing, she continues to search for her true path.

“I’m not totally lost, but nandoon po ako sa path, so papunta po ako doon... [I am] searching but not lost.”

Who are the people she wants to collaborate with?

Kahit paglilinis ng rest room with her or something, sa isang scene, go ako diyan.”

Her album is set to be released this year.
