Kathryn Bernardo considers nail polish a great accesory.
The 18-year-old teen star says during her launch as the first and newest endorser of Chic Nail Polish in Bar One, Crowne Plaza Galleria, on August 19, “Feeling ko kasi pag may kausap ka na tao or pag magde-dress up ka, parang iko-complete ng nail polish yung look na hinahanap mo.”
But of course, Kathryn points out that it is important to have clean nails.
“Always make sure na you have clean nails.
"Aside from the make-up, sa suot mo, wag natin kalimutan yung nails natin kasi usually nagpo-focus tayo sa hair natin, sa face natin, and dapat importante pa din yung nails natin para malinis."
She was seven or eight years old when she started joining her mom in nail salons. Hence, she knows a thing or two which shades of polish to choose.
Kathryn adds, “Kaya nung nakita ko yung colors ng Chic, sobrang natuwa ako dahil ang daming choices for teenagers like me."
Under her collection will be the Edgy, which includes the rock 'n chic colors of Raven, Mystique, Blair, Shadow, and Angelique.
The Star Magic talent notes that she used these colors in She's Dating A Gangster, which she topbilled with Daniel Padilla.
"I like to spice up my look from time to time, with an edgy bad or a different make-up palette.
"I think that more than trying on a rock-chic look, being edgy is about being brave to try new things, feeding the wanderlust in me."
But how does the teen queen take good care of her nails?
1. Make time for your mani and pedi.
“Pag may time, gusto ko talagang pumupunta ng nail salon like once a week.
"Basta pag may time ako na nahahanap, gusto ko talaga pinapa-clean yun nails ko, and binibigyan ko siya talaga ng time, e.”
2. If you are busy, clean and paint your own nails.
“...kung wala talagang time, ako na lang yung naglalagay sa sarili ko."
3. Choose a nail-polish brand that won’t damage your nails.
“Kaya ka nga may Chic nails para you can do it yourself. Kasi mga two coats lang, puwede na siya and ang bilis niya pa matuyo. Hindi siya yung magye-yellow yung nails mo.”
