BRAND BITS. Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo urges homemakers to use safe and durable kitchenware

“Importante kasi kapag nagluluto ka, you also think about the safety of the food kasi madali siyang ma-contaminate,” says Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo about choosing safe and durable kitchenware.

Technological advances have made food preparation a breeze. Our kitchens are filled with products that make food preparation and storage easier and more convenient, but not necessarily healthier.

Actress-TV host Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo approves of the new lines of Lock & Lock—the E-Cook and the Borosilicate Glass lines—because the materials used in these cookware and storage products are safe for cooking and storing food.

“Importante kasi kapag nagluluto ka, you also think about the safety of the food kasi madali siyang ma-contaminate, especially kapag seafood ang i-store mo, also chicken, vegetables, and fruits.

Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo talks to Chef Sau del Rosario, her mentor in making breads and pastries.

“You want to store these in containers that are tightly sealed.

“Lock & Lock is the perfect kasama sa bahay kasi ito talaga 'yong tutulong sa akin.

“It makes life easier because once you've stored them sa ref, makikita mo na kaagad, kasi sa glass siya nakalagay, makikita mo naman sa cover na tightly sealed talaga siya.

“From the ref, ipapasok mo siya sa microwave, and puwede mo siya ilagay sa stove top. Heat-resistant siya, kahit anong temperature kaya niya,” said Judy Ann in an interview after the launch of Lock & Lock's new products at SM North The Block, on EDSA, Quezon City, last Saturday, October 18.

The E-Cook and the Borosilicate Glass products are free from hazardous man-made chemicals Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and Polytetrafluoroethylene(PFTE) used as non-stick coatings in pans.

Multiple collections under E-Cook line include Deco, the affordable collection; Ceramic, for modern living; Prima, for induction cooking; Hard and Light, for long-term cooking; and SpeedCook, for people on the go.

Borosilicate Glass, on the other hand, can withstand varying temperatures of up to 400 degrees.

“Lock & Lock's movement to go beyond containers by offering quality cookware and glassware is our response to the Filipino's growing concern for health combined with the need to conveniently and quickly prepare food.

“Through these two lines, we used technology to create innovative products that can quickly and conveniently create healthy meals for the family,” said Ralph Chua, president of Lock & Lock Philippines, in a press statement.

Meanwhile, Judy Ann assured consumers, “It's a very wise investment.”
