“We would like to thank yung mga nag-patronize sa aming restaurant by giving them special discounts and other surprises,” bungad ni Richard.

“Yes, part pa rin ako as owner and with the same partners.

“And since UP Town Center is owned by the Ayalas, we have started a new relationship with them,” ngiti ng aktor.

“Wala pa kaming nakuhang space, e,” sagot niya.

“Actually, we were looking dati pero wala kaming mahanap na magandang location.”

BUSINESS PARTNERS.

Paliwanag ni Lester, “Yes, but actually, yung Wang Fu in Chinese term, Wang kasi is Prince 'tapos Fu is court.

"Pero it so happened na yung surname namin nung, kaming dalawang partners, Wang kami pareho ni Ace.

“So, parang Wang’s Court or Prince Court."

But kasi I’m from a food background din. I own Rice In A Box, yung RBX.

“And then yung partner ko doon, he has a restaurant din in Singapore.

“Then we created our own concept na lang which we plan to grow into a food chain.”

“Ah, ano kasi, e, when I was younger, yung family business kasi namin nasa Cebu, so medyo hindi kami masyadong magkaintindihan ng father ko sa negosyo. So, I chose to work with anybody else.”

So, nung ginawa namin ‘to, kinunsider namin si Richard kasi we know that he can help us a lot in growing the company,” lahad ni Lester.

May additional payment ba si Richard for endorsing the restaurant?

Napahalakhak muna si Richard sabay sabi, “It’s part of my job to help promote the restaurant."

I run the day-to-day, and then, he promotes the restaurant.

"And of course, in developing the future expansion, he helps us think about how to develop the company further."

How often do they change their menu?

“And mga three to four times a year, yung chef pumupunta sa, it’s either China, Singapore or Hongkong, and then, nag-e-explore kami ng bagong recipes.

"Marami kasi kaming kaibigan in those places who own restaurants. So we go to them, and then, we searched, eat their food, and help us come up, develop the menu.”

Ilan ang chefs nila kanilang bistro?

“Dito we have six. Sa kabila [Wang FU, Il Terrazo], we have three. Pero isa lang yung foreign.”

BUSINESS VENTURES. After one year, happy sina Richard at Lester dahil maraming customers ang nagpupunta sa Wang Fu.

Ngiti ni Richard, “Well, syempre we’re also thankful kasi maraming negosyo ang hindi nagta-thrive, e. So, one year is a milestone for us and we’re hoping for more years to come."

“Actually, it’s a pet grooming and hotel sa BF [Parañaque]. Puwede mo ipa-stay yung aso mo if you’re out-of-town.

"Kasi yung wife ko dati, she’s in partnership with a friend of hers, nagbebenta sila ng pet food.

“Pagkatapos as she got to know the business, parang nagkaroon sila ng idea to make their own brand of pet grooming like, shampoos, mga ganoon.

“So, she shifted from yung pet food, she concentrated doon sa pet shampoo. So, we now have our own brand. Pet’s Stars ang name ng shampoo.

“So nung pumasok kami sa pet shampoo, then, parang related na yung ano, e. So we had to own stores. So we put up a pet hotel and grooming.

Ano na siya, well, it’s inside the store. You can put your dogs there. You can leave them. Alagaan namin for you if you’re out of town.”

Magkano ang isang araw?

“Depends on the size of the dog. It’s from P300 to P500, up to P700 ata per day, parang ganoon. Naka-aircon sila.”

Kasama na ang food?

“Oo, pero usually kasi, syempre yung mga owners they bring their own food.

“I think 12 slots. Saka may pet services din kami doon.”

May veterinarian sa pet hotel nila?

“Yes, meron kaming vet doon. Actually, yung mga pumupunta doon either napapa-grooming or nagpapa-shots, papa-check-up.

“E yung mga aso, naggru-grooming kaya kailangan paliguan mo muna, ginugupitan. Ginugupitan ng kuko. Yes, may groomers din talaga kami.”

And then, Richard is starting a flooring business.

“I’m opening a showroom for a flooring, wooden flooring.

We have narra, yakal, acacia, mahogany.”

Can he still count his money?

“It has its benefits talaga, of course.

"But like everyone else, we should always be thinking of something else to do. Hindi puwede na nag-rest on your laurels. You have to invest also. Hindi puwede you rely solely on showbiz. Hindi rin ano yun e stable. You don’t know until when you are going to be in-demand.”

May gusto pa ba siyang gawin na ibang negosyo?

“Well, as of now, I’m going to concentrate sa business na yun, kasi ginu-grow ko pa lang,” pagtatapos niya.
