Christmas is just around the corner and the Ayala Malls is making it more special by treating mall-goers to a number of festivities and entertainment offerings.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got a preview of what the Ayala group have to offer this holiday season during their press launch on November 6 at The Peninsula Hotel, Makati City.
According to Maricris Barnardino, Ayala Malls Senior Division Manager, “What’s unique this Chrismas is that at every Ayala Mall, we put up or curated bespoke Christmas stations.”
There is glass house-themed Christmas station at Glorietta, a gourmet lane at Market! Market!, and a Christmas village at TriNoma. Shoppers can shop for gift items at these Christmas stations.
“If you go to these stations, you can find gifts for your family. The whole purpose of doing this is so you have time to bond with your family, watch a Christmas show, to really feel the season," Maricris said.
FRANKLY SPEAKING. Aside from the Christmas stations, Ayala Malls will also treat its shoppers to Frankly Speaking, a Steps Dance Project, where dancers perform to the timeless songs of Frank Sinatra. The project is headed by Sofia Zobel-Elizalde, directed by James Laforteza, and choreographed by Jeffrey Espejo, Jun Saagundo, and Xernan.
Ayala Malls also flew in musician and entertainer Omar Edwards from New York.
Maricris said, “He is actually a performer at the Cotton Club, one of the top clubs in New York. Omar will grace all the shows in Ayala Malls.”
Aside from Omar, Piolo Pascual, Xian Lim and Sam Milby will also perform for the shoppers. George Schulze and JC Santos are featured guest singers in the shows.
In an interview with PEP and other members of the press, Piolo expounded on the real essence of Christmas: “It’s the time to get together with the family. But it's also the time to give, not just to your loved ones, but also to the community, and to the world."
Piolo expressed his excitement about performing with fellow Kapamilya stars Sam Milby and Xian Lim.
“We’re playing standard music—jazz, classical—and then you have the ballet dancers. We’re singing, of course, Christmas songs.”
Customers get a shopping bag for free and an access pass to Ayala Malls’ Christmas chorale performances for every five peso donation to any of two chosen charities.
The Frankly Speaking concert kicked off at the Glorietta Activity Center on November 7 at 7 pm. There will be shows at the Alabang Town Center on November 15 and 16, TriNoma on November 22 and 23, Fairview Terraces on November 29 and 30, Ayala Center Cebu on December 6 and 7, and Market! Market! on December 13 and 14.
