Young actor JC de Vera is enjoying his independence and has set his priorities on the right track, "Merong mga bagay na dapat muna unahin sa ngayon...

JC was flustered when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press asked him about Jessy Mendiola, the leading lady in their upcoming Kapamilya teleserye, Never Say Goodbye.

PEP chatted with JC last Saturday, November 15, at the Sunpiology fun run at Bonifacio Global City.

CRUSH? “Ganun ba pag crush? Hindi makatingin ng diretso?," he remarked laughingly.

The actor confessed he still feels awkward around Jessy, “Hindi pa kami ganun talaga nagja-jive kasi ngayon ko pa lang din siya naka-work.

LEARNING FROM THE PRO. JC will also be working with veteran actors Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta in the new teleserye.

"Kasi nagtuturo sila, pinapakita nila sa amin how to portray characters, kung ano yung tamang attitude towards work.

"So napakagandang example."

The actor hinted that his role in the new teleserye is different from his previous portrayals, “Bagong JC de Vera, naging mas mature na yung character na gagampanan ko."

He added, "First time ko actually makagawa ng ganitong klaseng role.

“So very excited ako sa mga mangyayari.

NO TIME FOR LOVE. The actor also mentioned that he's single and that his commitment to his current project leaves him no time for a relationship.

“As of now, not yet ready.

BURGER BUSINESS. Another thing, JC has ventured in a restaurant business called The Burgery.

“It’s in BF Homes Parañaque, a small place lang. Puro burgers, pastas, mga mashed potatoes, wedges.

"Nag-venture lang ako sa business na yun kasi nga first of all it’s fun kasi kasama ko mga kabarkada ko, and after a few months nakakakita na kami ng potential.

"So nagkaseryosohan na lahat kaya, hopefully, by next year makapag-expand na kami.

Without a significant other, what will Christmas be like for JC?

“Definitely with my family lang. Wala akong special someone, kaya family lang.

“Very blessed naman ako pag dating sa work sa ngayon kaya yun love makakapaghihintay naman 'yan.

"Mas gusto ko rin na with family muna kasi nga sunod-sunod rin naman yung mga ginagawang projects so nagkaron ako ng less time for the family.

“So this Christmas, hopefully, as in buong Christmas break makasama ko sila."
