LJ Reyes recently organized Play Date Soon, a parent-child bonding, held at Babyland in Mandaluyong City last November 24.

Despite her busy schedule, LJ Reyes sees to it that she spends quality time with her son, Aki.

This was what she told parents who participated in the Play Date Soon, a parent-child bonding event she organized at Babyland in Mandaluyong City last November 24.

“Ang dami kong mommy-friends na nag-i-invite sa akin na mag-play date with Aki,” explained the StarStruck alumna.

“Sabi ko, dapat masaya, puwedeng mag-play ang mga bata at maraming matututunan. Heto yung na-come up namin.”

Baby yoga, talk on child care, drawing, and other fun activities were enjoyed by parents and their kids.

“This is just a trial event for April next year, na isang mas malaking event pa talaga,” LJ added.

The venture makes her a social entrepreneur, student, actress, and mother.

How does she juggle these roles?

Her answer: “Kaya naman. If you really want to do something, maga-allot ka ng time.”

ACTIVE MOM. Her busy schedule requires a lot of energy. Her healthy lifestyle and wellness advocacy during and after giving birth had made her strong.

“Kailangan mag-start kahit nung buntis or after magbuntis. Kailangan healthy eating, more fruits and vegetables, less junk foods.

"You have to be active.”

According to LJ, it took her only two months, after she delivered her baby, to reach her desired weight “dahil hindi naman ako masyadong tumaba.”

While she is naturally blessed with a small bone structure, the young mother admitted that she still tries to work out regularly to keep fit.

“I go to the gym 'tapos, if I have time, I run. Sinisingit ko talaga sa schedule. Ang goal ko ay to work out 3 to 4 times a week.”

She believes in leading by example, and has enrolled her son in a basketball camp so he can have an active lifestyle at a young age.

“Natututo siya ng team work. Maganda sa kanya ang physical activities.”

COOKIES FOR SANTA. At four, her son Aki has no clear concept of Christmas. But he has asked his mom to leave cookies and milk on the table on Christmas Eve for Santa Claus.

LJ has also started teaching him about the true meaning of Christmas by reading him Bible stories.

Where does she plan to spend the holidays?

“We’re supposed to spend Christmas in the States. Pero na-cancel yung trip ko dahil may gagawin akong indie film (to be directed by Jun Lana). So probably, dito na lang with the family,” she said.

She is also in the cast of Yagit, which airs on GMA 7.
