Jodi Sta. Maria happily juggles time as hands-on mom and businesswoman

"Yung time lost at home talagang babawiin ko talaga," says Jodi Sta. Maria in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the opening of her milkshake branch in SM Southmall. Her son Thirdy happily played cashier for Happy Barn Milkshake Factory during the event.

With Be Careful With My Heart finally over, Jodi Sta. Maria keeps herself busy with her milkshake business, cooking lessons, and travel plans with her son Thirdy.

Just last Saturday, November 29, she opened at SM Southmall in Las Piñas City the second branch of her milkshake bar, the Happy Barn Milkshake Factory.

On hand to help Jodi oversee the event were her business partners Abigail Del Mundo and Jesse Janssen Muñoz.

“Meron na tayong Happy Barn Milk Shake factory sa SM Southmall, meron pa rin tayo in Market! Market! [in Taguig City],” Jodi cheerfully began.

Some of their popular milkshake flavors are Tickled Pinkberry, Salted Caramel, Nutty Monkey and Oreo Overjoy.

This time, they have come up with a new milkshake concoction called Rootbeer Cheer.

“We're introducing the newest flavor kung saan isa siyang rootbeer float na ginawang milkshake. It's another way of enjoying milkshake,” Jodi beamed.

The 32-year-old Kapamilya actress was also happy to report that their business has kept up with competition since it first opened last year.

“I'm proud to say na we are the first milkshake bar in the country.

“Pero our milkshake talaga is healthy kasi low fat, low sugar, and it's fortified with prebiotics, which aids digestion and calcium absorption.”

Aside from offering yummy milkshakes, Jodi and her business partners have also launched an easy-to-read inspirational book, Shake Your Life: The Happy Barn Milkshake Factor's 30 Thirst-Quenching Flavors of Happy Thoughts To Live By.

Written by the three partners, the book talks about cultivating happy thoughts and spreading good vibes by bringing out other people's strengths.

“Marami siyang topics about initiative, learning, compassion...

“Right now available ang book sa Happy Barn outlets. Eventually, we're thinking of launching it sa bookstores.

"Sana maging available din siya sa app stores para maraming tao makabasa,” said Jodi.

COOKING LESSONS AND TRAVELLING. Aside from being hands on with her co-owned business, Jodi shared with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) how she plans to spend her free time this December.

“Ngayon kasi planado na yung December ko. Nag-enrol ako sa isang cooking school.

“Mahilig kasi ako magluto. Gusto ko ng karagdagang knowledge pa [about] technique and style sa cooking.”

Still, over and above her busy schedule, Jodi gives priority to spending quality time with her six-year-old son, Thirdy.

“Magta-travel kami ni Thirdy. Meron kaming out of town, meron kaming out of the country na gagawin.

“Yung time lost at home talagang babawiin ko talaga,” Jodi happily added.
