Heart Evangelista, known to be kikay, is all grown up.
These days, she speaks with more wisdom, and, as always, carries herself with grace and elegance.
The bride-to-be of Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero lets PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in on a few more details about her upcoming nuptials.
She says her favorite part of the preparation is being with her loved ones on her special day.
“Walang choice lahat ng mga kaibigan mo, lahat ng mga loved ones mo, kahit gaano kalayo sila, magsasama-sama kayo.
“I think that's the best part of it because it's not all the time that you have all your loved ones in one place at the same time.”
PRIVATE AFFAIR. With so many high-profile celebrity weddings in 2014, would Heart classify hers as a public or private affair?
Heart reveals, “Uhm, there will be a special, we recently agreed on a [TV] special.
“But it's private in a way na when I'm walking down the aisle, on that day itself, hindi yung feeling na nagte-taping ka para sa isang eksena.”
Heart's home network is GMA-7 so fans should expect the wedding special to be aired there.
She continues, “Puro normal yung mga taong nandoon. Uhm, mahirap din in a way kasi, siyempre, hindi lahat in-invite namin sa pinaka-wedding, so balanse lang siya.”
Heart also shares that her wedding playlist is borrowed heavily from the movie, Serendipity, a rom-com starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.
WEDDING PLAYLIST. Did they consider traditional wedding songs?
Heart quickly admits, “I was super-duper picky with that, the music and the videos. I was super-duper sensitive with that, I needed my favorite songs to be played there.”
The actress confesses, “When I was young, I wasn't really the type of person to obsess about the dress or anything, but I was always obsessed with the music, what song I would want to hear when I walk down the aisle.”
The song for her solo walk down the aisle is Gary Valenciano's “How Did You Know?”
While Heart would have loved Mr. Pure Energy himself to sing live, her wedding day coincides with Gary's show on Valentine's Day.
She remarks, “So, susunod na lang siya sa reception sa [February] 18.”
Songs from About Time, another movie, are included as well.
She adds, “Chiz will be walking to the song 'The Luckiest,' also from About Time.”
Heart is happy that they share the same taste for music; she and Chiz easily agreed on their wedding playlist.
She remarks, “I am lucky because we both like to listen to music and we share the same playlist, so we both can relate.”
Aside from contemporary pop love songs, their wedding music catalog also includes some classics, including a tune that she feels aptly describes her “dilemma.”
She explains, “There's this really nice tune with this message—it's about a woman pleading with her father to allow her to marry the man she loves. Such a coincidence, right?”
As to following wedding customs, Heart has yet to choose her items for “something borrowed” and “something blue."
She says, “Yun ang hindi ko pa alam, pero we're fixing that na.”
FUSSY GROOM. Because Chiz plays such a big part in the wedding preparations, Heart is enjoying his attention to detail and practical suggestions.
She narrates, “He's almost like the bride! So fun. He's in charge of everything. I just have to smile.
“He makes tawad everything. Siya yung nang-aaway. Everything we need to do, [he does it], he's just so practical.”
“SPONTANEOUS” VOWS. So how are the vows coming along? Vows are usually what people look forward to hearing from a soon-to-be-wedded couple.
Heart admits, “I haven't. I haven't. Maybe in a few days... Para I feel it more.”
Why is it taking so long?
She quickly answers, “Well, because Chiz isn't writing anything, he wants it to be spontaneous, daw.
“So on the day itself, right then and there, doon daw niya iisipin kung ano sasabihin niya sa akin.
“So as much as possible, ayoko rin na magmukhang scripted yung sa akin, so titingnan natin, you know? How we feel at that moment.”
POST-WEDDING PLANS. What are Heart's plans after the wedding? Will she continue to work?
“Yes, I will still be working. Siyempre kailangan natin 'yan.”
Does she have a clear idea of the kind of roles she'll play after the wedding?
“As an artist, definitely I will be a lot more choosy with my roles.
“Parang hindi rin naman tama na... although sometimes I forget na pulitiko yung magiging asawa ko. Siguro hindi na rin tama na may iba akong role na gagawin na.
"Siyempre, it will also reflect on him and so, definitely, [I will be] a bit more choosy with the roles, but I won't stop,” she affirms.
